Dear Friends,
I started a post a long time ago about what are your dreams but now I think even small things can make me smile, How about you?
1) A beautiful sunrise
2) The soft touch of my grandaughter, and the smell of her skin:)
3) Holding the hand of the one I love
4) rainbows
5) hearing a song that I love and haven't heard in awhile!:D

Hi Deedeelyn,
i don't mind you shortening my username... lavandula canadensis stands for canadian lavender, the latin name of a variety i invented for myself... :D some use lavandula, lavan, lav... all are ok :)
welcome (or welcome back) on this thread!!! i don't remember to have seen you before... i'm not up-to-date with the news on all my subscribed threads and our new members... i noticed you're not new on BT, but maybe you've been away for awhile? or i'm confused... i'm at my 4th move this year during all october!!!
:) happy today because weather was cooperating for allowing me to plant part of my perennial flowers that have been waiting all summer...
:) happy my landlords gave me a hand in planting some of my shrubs and perennial flowers this morning and we chose together where to plant all that...
:) happy to have moved half my stuff on friday... i'll have more space to pack the rest this week... and i realize that moving (the part with the moving company) over 2 days, with 10 days apart, is easier on the nerves and on the back & shoulders... and i have all month to move everything i want to take into my car...

Joy, the rope thing dh made from rope was probably a Hack-a-mor, something we have learned from the Native Americans way back, during the Indian wars.
I agree people can post anywhere they like! We all have good intentions to try to find the right threads, and some like me just run their mouths off anywhere. Now I will post my Happy things!
Happy I closed the windows yesterday, as it was 43 degrees when I woke up.
Happy I am toughing it out and not turning on the heat yet. I am however considering to turn it on for a few hours to heat the place up, as the house holds the heat.
Happy to have a day to myself! I am afraid what I would say to my sil if I say him today!
Have a great day all!

Happy I can still see to read the posts & reply!
Happy to sit & watch 12 birds on a small Mountain Ash devour the orange berries, the tree is so small they bent the branches down to the ground to gobble up the goodies. I went to get my camera & by that time they had finished & were off to the next tree!
Happy to have sunshine again, yesterday was rainy & windy but I managed to walk Rags in between gusts & he got to chase a deer.
Happy I discovered my favorite comedy show (Colbert Report) is on @ 7:30am here so now I can begin my day with laughter & ignore the news!!!!
Happy to have a eye exam over with. I have keratitis, or inflamation.
Happy I got back home and will now just do what I want before trying to do anything else today, LOL
Happy that my chickadees & red birds and other such pretty and unusual birds are returning to feeders.
I did see a humming bird today at my feeders. Guess I know what I'll do after logging off.
I'll be making up a fresh batch just one more time to send the stragglers off healthy.
Hi
I'm happy I think I found a good friend from HS thru a classmates site. Accually I got an Email from that site wanting me to join but it had some names. I recognised her so wrote her. I got answers thru facebook but still I'm not sure it is her (can this classmates thing get on there & pretend they are _____?)
joy, Where do you live? The birds are leaving here; going south for the winter :(

Happy to be home with my family.
Happy Craig is with his momma who he never got over losing.
Happy the funerals are over for a while, God willing.
Happy to have you all to check in with tonight.
AR is a pretty place. ;) lor.
The farm was so pretty today with the leaves falling and acorns everywhere. Some of the trees are changing & colors always make me happy.
I watched a farrier trim the horses hooves and shoe them today. It was neat.
I told the neighbor man that was doing it that I love to see men work, LOL.
(I do)
It was a little unsettling to see the girls looking like they were fighting.
I later learned they were only throwing horse apples at each other. This is horse poop for those that don't know this, LOL. I was strill a bit unsettled after hearing this from grand daughter's mouth.
Of course I am wondering who started that throwing & why I wondered . I know girls are really jealous of having to share everything. Even their horses!
Really hoping to be happy in about a week when we are supposed to get one for grand daughter ourselves.
I really think we might as I found out this afternoon the man said his dad was kin to me . I saw him, resaid the name over in my head, and YEP, we are!! Seeing him as we passed by in the vehicle clinched it. He just looks older than he did when I last saw him at his brother's funeral.
Some of you younguns are in for a shock later on in life I'm afraid. Get strong and toughen up, old age is not for weenies!!!

Happy that shortcake still loves to curl up in my lap in the lazy boy and get lovins for a bit before bed. A rock and a cuddle, nothin like it.
Happy to have a little hummer sit on the crook of my feeder (tho' there wasn't food on that one, was elsewheres ) and stay for the longest resting. It was just looking around & I even got a picture of it through the window. Pretty small one.
Happy I made up a new batch of food for hummers & put it out. It is cool & raining off & one. When I dumped the old sweet water, it was shivvery cold. Poor birds. Hope they are healthy & are planning on leaving soon.
Happy to have done a bit of cleaning in kitchen this morning already.
It seems like losing some weight & moving about watching kids ride horses is good for me, LOL.
Happy to feel like sitting at the computer for a bit this morning.

Happy I got the shed all cleaned out! Even put away the patio chairs & did some yard cleanup. Feels so good to see things looking neater around here.
Happy to see a pic in yesterday's paper of a buck crossing road with the strange Siamese cat that I spotted a few days ago in our back yard! Wonder how the heck the photographer managed to get the shot? Buck was going one way & the cat the other.....
Happy I drove to the neighbor's yesterday & gave her 2 sacks filled with empty egg cartons. At one time I wanted to have chickens here but gave up on that idea since nobody would help me build a coop.
Happy Christina is finished with funerals for awhile (let's hope so!)
I'm sure I saw another hummer whiz by today. I am talking about this so much so that I can look back and note the last day I saw one this year. This is the latest I have ever seen hummers here in our area!
We went to our neighbor & son's church fall festival. At a silent auction I bid the higgest on a green bunny. I won. We went back & picked it up, stopped by a Ace store & purchased some pansies and I overdid it but I now have my white bunny & the new green one outside on my front porch. I also cut some ivy and stuck in the pots. Unfortunately I still have the mess in the kitchen. Still have pains and upset tummy but at least I have that sense of accomplishing something. YEAH!
I'm planning on having a tablespoon or so of peanut butter for my meal tonight, a glass of water & a handfull of pills, ~shudder~
We had abudant sunshine today, I opened the windows and let the breeze in. It was a good day.

I pulled out 3 tomato plants at my class garden plot this morning and was glad to at least get a start on the job.
Afternoon brought a nap with the front door open and the sunshine streaming in. It was a gorgeous day!
The postman brought a letter from my student days. That always is the high point of any day. We correspond regularly by US postal service. Cheerio.

Another sunny, warm day.
A chance to sleep until noon.
The end of my summer tomato harvest.
An hour long chat on the phone with #4 kid. Looks like he will not be laid off after all, although his hours will be erratic and he will spend long hours, on call. Cheerio.
Seeing new people here, Welcome
I am still putting out hummingbird feed. I must take down & put of new oftener next year tho" I did not see any today but was busy. In any case, it is there if there are any takers..

:) although it's cool and it's pouring rain, i have a very cheerful view on the nature/woods in my new kitchen/living room from the patio door and the 2 big windows looking on the west side... and the medium window looking on the north...
:) many maple trees surrounding the house are still wearing some beautiful yellow, orange and red leaves... more red leaves than we had in the last few years... and as most leaves are now on the ground, i can see some evergreens in the background...
:) the nature's carpet is covered with maple leaves... revealing a very soothing aroma, and chanting a lovely melody, when we step on them...

Gene, I know today is a tough day for you as you grieve for Gina (Braindrain). I know you loved her name! I never had the pleasure of meeting or talking to her, however have read many of her posts. She was an awsome, sweet and powerful person, those are the qualties I took from her writings.
Please know I don't think she would want you to be down today, but to celebrate her life and everything she gave to so many people in those words she wrote.
I hope I didn't overstep boundries. I hope you are well and family issues are doing better and you have help!

:) happy to see the sunset from my 2 big windows, my patio door, and from the mirror i installed on the wall in front of my kitchen sink...
OO Lavan that all sounds so lovely. I like your discriptions & love placing you among all that beauty.
Y'all would never guess where I went tonight
I went to a Carrie Underwood concert with my two lovely girls and their friends. I was worried about the lights bothering my daughter but she did fine, as I did with the sound. I feel I did as well as the young~uns.
Thank Havens for steroid shots, and medi-pak pills, it makes more things possible these day, for awhile anyway, LOL.
Hubby & I dragged my flowers inside as it is freeezing weather here now. I've had a nap after getting back from concert & am busy at computer for awhile.

Lavan, I too enjoed your description! My home faces west, and I absolutely love the view in the late fall intil the trees leaf out. My favorite are the rime ice, when the humidity is high and the temps cold enough for polar bears. And the absolutely gorgeous sunsets, along with the moon in the early am.
Joy, you ARE one of the young chicks! I am so happy you had a good time at the concert with your Daughter and her friend! Flashing lights are a major problem for people w/epilepsy, I am so happy hers must be very well. Sounds like great fun!
I spent about 4hrs with Alexa tonight, she was cranky again, overtired and wanted to eat:(. Thank God Mommy came home early so she could nurse, she ate and was out like a light!:)
Nana (?? whats your name???), At 1st when I read that you like the rime ice & it being cold enough for polar bears, I thought you were talking about some sorta thing that comes from rime ice. I was gunna ask you what 'polar bears' were. You see, we have maples around here & in the fall there are lots of 'helicoptors' falling from them. Perhaps Lavandula knows what I'm talking about (lol).
Our house faces south so in the evening the sun comes in the side window & shines in the living room. But if U R sitting in the Lazy Boy, the sun gets in your eyes.
I'm happy John is done making the plastic pumpkins sing & blink. He used a thing that lets you program your stuff thru the computer (does anyone know of Light-O-Rama?). The pumpkins & computer have been on the dining room table for days. Finally he programed them to sing (blink) to Monster Mash & 2 others.

Lor,I know what the "helicopter's" are! When I take my walk these days the path is covered with maple leaves & those helicopter's come down on me. That's interesting about your hubby being so into Halloween.
Lavan, you are truly blessed at last with a wonderful place to live!
Yesterday a dealer (for the newbie's this means an antique dealer!),brought over her new Labradoodle that she named after our terrier mix-Pepper. She is so cute & very soft,Rags wanted to play with her of course. She's all black & I commented that she even has black eyes. This made my day!
If anyone watched the infomercial last night & saw that poor woman's crooked fingers from RA, I just want to say I'm very grateful mine aren't that bad! I will no longer gripe about having bent fingers in my right hand!

Lor, I am so sorry I just was able to croak out my name to you, how rude! We also have the helicopters here, they drive me nuts as I have a male tree and everyone else has the females, but I end up with all the weed trees! Seems I am always pulling those little trees.
I think it is awesome how you and your husband can do all of the cool things you do at Halloween and Christmas!
Pati, I did see it, I have the big knuckles from arthritis, and can only imagine how badly she hurts! I was only able to see/hear beause I was with Alexa and she has having a melt down, thankfully her mommy came home and she shut up! Bad nana!!

Lor and Kathy,
as children, we also call the maple fruits 'helicopters'
squirriels love to eat the seeds in them
talking about them reminds me of when i was in primary school, there was a humongus maple tree nearby... in the fall, the street was literally covered with many many inches of maple leaves... very beautiful melodious and aromatic... i loved so much to walk in them... memories... :p

appy to have another neuro's visit over with, duh, he wants me to take more meds. Didn't surprise me at all. I'd said I'd already knew that a person just can't take enough pills to take away ALL the pain. Guess they think they can. oops sorry I am happy to have it over with!
happy to have been able to wash off some of the dirt on the siding on the front porch after all. Whee, it sure was cold and breezy when I got wet, LOL
I'm just happy to be recalling some of the more plesant things that have happened in life. I do love the fall as it makes me feel more peaceful than any other season. Of course I'm still recalling a lot of the unplesant things still also. But it's nice to have happier things to replace the thoughts with and end on a happy note usually :p
I am using my new dryer, with steam. I didn't realise that hubby had hooked it up already. But did notice that the clothes looked nice. :p. drat you still have to get up & hang them up, LOL.
It only makes my old tan with wood grain top washer look tired, like I feel. Dauhter woke me up at seven cause her kid woke up early as she was put to bed early. Don't cha know kids take some time to get used to the time change as well. GK was in an excited mood and singing. I must sign her up for singing lessons. She likes to try all the songs with the weird sound effects. I imagine just what all Jim Carry's family had to endure during his growing up years.
I still have the messiest house with everything drug out. But I'm also smart enough to count my blessing in many ways and I feel that I have many to count at that. Money flying out the windows in all directions but I have plenty of food and a place to stay and am not worried about staying warm this winter.
So all in all, I am happy to be here and say so! Here's hoping others feel the same way. If not, just say so and join right in anyway. ;) I noticed the weather is awful up WA way. :(
I also am wondering how Laurie is. I need to dig and find her phone number. Those dratted kids of ours have already ate up all our extra minutes,, nothing new there.

Joy, I'm pretty sure you have just put a plant inside a head vase! These are highly collectable & were never meant to actually have a plant in them, but it's yours so do whatever you want ( I will cringe alone).Actually it's funny so I'll have to share that with other dealer's......
anyway my dear friend it's so nice to know you are feeling better & getting things done & feeling happy! I can tell by your writing just how much better you are doing & it sure makes me happy to know it's happening!
Lavan, yes I do have one cat,Sissy. The Jack Russell didn't stay in the ads long of course. If I were rich I'd adopt alot of dogs! At one time we had 2 dogs & 5 cats here (some of the cats were "given" to us since we're suckers for critters in need of a home).
Oh, forgot I'm on the happy thread! So here goes:
Happy sun is out @ times today, rained very hard last night & I now need my rubber boots to take dog for walk in the woods.
Happy my depression has lifted for the time being since I hate being so down!
Happy I got the cleaning cupboard cleaned out & tossed alot more stuff (like tons of outdated vitamins!)
I think of Laurie often & hope she's doing OK, I need to give her a call also but keep putting it off......I'm sure if she was well she would be here checking in ya know? Anyone that wants the number can send me a PM.
Buttons she is a gree and cream girl with tiny flowers on her hat. There is a large opening in her hat where I placed my plant. She is made by ENESCO Pottery Company 1956.
I now have dirt on my dressing gown, LOL. There is more but it is too hard for my eyes to make it out. I might could find one like her on Ebay but will just give the details.
I have asked for what Lavan has, a thingy for computer and hubby said it wasn't expensive. Buttons I was hoping you could ask Santa for one also....;)
If I find the right ribbon, I will place it on the tiny dowel rod I placed in the dirt to hold my cactus upright. Since cactus does not have many roots, it is easy for the plant to wobble in wrong direction. She would look even more adorable with a bow I think. In any case, I treasure it and wish I knew just where she got it. I know the details of most of her things. I still cannot find the tiny ceramic cat Uncle Vernon was to have found on railroad track and took to her when she was staying with Aunt Heddy. Sigh, I guess I never will as I'm sure she hid it somewhere and the the robbers have just about emptied everything and strowed the papers from things she had boxed up. They just trashed everything the last time they broke into the house.
Regardless of what this thread is called, I like to answer things and say what I want, where I want, LOL At lesast sometimes I do. I prwefer that to when I just don't feel like saying anything at all!
Thankfull neither feelings last too long usually.

VERY happy with election results so far, we still have some close races going on her in my state.
OT, but since this is the thread with the head vase I just want to suggest how cute one would be with a "String of Pearl's" plant!

Today, I'm happy with the national election results, disappointed with some of the propositions in my state and OK with the local results although one of the people I wanted to see on my city council lost. Still watching some of the other close races that affect my son and his family.
I finally got my flu shot and didn't have to wait in line. The area was open from 5 to 8 PM and I got there at 0752PM and was the only one there. However, 3 people came after I did. There were lots of places to park, too.
Happy to see we will have a "First Dog" in the White House and will share the joy of Malia and Sasha. Also happy to see their Gramma will move in with them, to be another source of stability in the family.
The lap pool is open again! They took one of the parts from the hot tub and used it in the lap pool so now the hot tub is closed. That's OK because I never use it. Cheerio.
I'll take little wins (some are BIG in my book) and we won some of the. In our local race, we have some in run offs still. That's not losing. just yet anyway, LOL.
It was just a tad rainy today, but the nice kind, over with fast but with a promise of more later, perhaps tonight. We need rain.
It is nice to see the leaves float down. It is like it is raining leaves some places under our trees. The willow oak leaves twirl down fast. I cannot grab a bunch and put in back of truck to watch them fly about like I used to when my and mother were going places. A nice memory in any case.

Happy my youngest son called today. I don't call him cause he works strange shifts & I'd hate to wake him up. He's been hunting grouse! No longer fishing. I'm used to him going many years doing one thing then suddenly doing something else. Maybe I'll get to eat grouse? Happy that all is well in his world & hoping to see him soon.
We are on flood watch in some areas, however don't pay too much attention to what the national news says about us getting 5" of rain cause they seem to like to dramatize too much! I walked my dog between the heavy downpours.
Happy to see the 2 remaining bunnies & the doves are eating alot of cracked corn again.
I didn't realize Mrs. Robinson is going to be living in the White House. The girls will need all the "normal" they can get! There are all kinds of blogs to suggest what type dog they should get & what to name it. At least this is more uplifting than war & economy!
Tootsie,I just read about the new ideas for CA to get back on track w/economy.....sure hope they don't have a mass exodus north cause we're not much better off! Glad you will be swimming again!
I am happy with my little head thingy whatever it is and just know my mother would be glad if it makes me happy as well. That's all that is needed for me :p.
I also repotted the original [I]plant, the tiny sausage like little link plant[I] back into the yellow star with an angel on it that was my mother-in-law's planter. I had put it into an even tiner planter that looked like a tiny bag with a ribbon around it. It was much too small for the plant now. I will need to get some tiny but tall stakes and some of thjose clips like is used for orchids to clip the tall stalks to keep them upright.
I ever so carefully found each tiny piece of the plant that fell of the sausage looking plant anmd stucj each piece into the rooting compound and put those into a tiny pot to grow , hopefully. I've never had any to drop before so I'm hoping to have another plant by doing this. We'll see:p
It feel like old times with all these plants inside my house and also right by my front door. I have an ornamental cabbage & violets and now my ivy and even what I love the most, Irish moss and other tiny but green perienial grass in some of the potted plants.

Happy today was a free day! No appointments or errands! I slept until 11am! I haven't slept that late since I was a kid! I felt a bit out of it, and the day has been a bust.
Happy my furnace works so well! We are down to 35 degrees, we never hit 40 today.
Happy my PM appointment went well yesterday! My pain levels have been down since last months visit and med changes! Going from 8/10 to 4/10 is a HUGE change for the better!

Love to know that you are planting Joy!
Kathy, glad you are having less pain (or at least not feeling it so much?) Wow what a storm in S. Dakota! EEE-45" of snow!!
Sun is out right now so that's making me smile.
Happy I found a raincoat yesterday that I like. Also love feeling my new pair of socks.
Happy that HM is gone for the day @ a fundraiser for the boy's & girl's club so I can have peace from the weird stuff he watches on TV (dirty jobs, whale wars, history, snakes, etc). I swear he watches that stuff to drive me nuts.....I grossed out over a male hippo killing a male baby hippo! I'm sick to death of killings & bad stuff that goes on in this world.
Happy I don't have to cook dinner tonight. Last night I baked cod & for some reason I'm still having an aversion to fish. I also don't like it stinking up the house!

Happy to have such wonderful and caring friends here. :D
Happy we didn't get the snow SD did, just a few flakes and a bit of sleet here. We are in the low 30's-40's, I am a bit achey but overall feel pretty good!
Happy my virus is finally gone! I thought it would never end!
Happy mom is coming home from her b/f's tonite, I am getting tired of going up and down her steps to feed her cats!
I guess I'll be happy that I'll be getting a new dryer. Hubby saw oil under it & that explains a few things: One that we'll be spending twie the money we didn't know we'd have too, one for the dryer now another for the washer.
When we were out at mother's today I am healed enough that I started collecting some things that I haven't felt up to yet. (Dawn, don't rush, it've been four years and mine died in the last of March '04.)
Today it was some more tiny things, a small egg with flowers paonted on top. Inside was a tiny plastic baby with its arms & legs upright. I wished so for the tiny cat black & white. I've been saying it's ceramic, it is more like porcelain & unfound still. Also a tiny vase and a tiny leaf of preclain made in Japan, a set of tiny ? whatevers, won't say as I have enough trouble calling things right as it is.
I did take the corner gold painted wood holder that some of the things were in filigee cut I believe, anyway it held the tiny musical October girl that mama's niece sent for one birthday. That's a keeper as both are gone.
Well I had a break before I tackled this happy list but now I'm hurting so it's up & onto something else again.
I hope everyone has a plesant Sunday.
I had to come back quickly just to add that I can't quit remarking just how beautifu every gold & red every tree I see is. I even took some of the hugh tree that the storms have taken the top out of twice. I guess you could say it's now a large arsed tree, LOL Krissi, if you're reading. things stick with me ;-) . But still beautiful to me.

:) happy to have been able to connect a tv-tuner into my computer last week... to be able to watch tv on my 22" wide screen computer monitor... and it works fine... for when i will want to watch it... once in a blue moon... here, we have basic tv cable (included in my rent)
no need anymore to have a tv in the way... as i was dusting it more minutes a month than i was watching it... i had not had a tv for more than 18 months, as i gave my older one in early spring last year to have more room in my wall unit for... magazines & books...
:) only one more flower to plant... and some bulbs (76 tulips & 84 daffodils)... well, it's not my fault if i love flowers !!! some people of my age were born under a cabbage leaf... i was born under a flower petal !!!

Dear Friends, Oh how I have missed you!!
I have been stuck on the couch or in bed for so long. I am able to move around better due to a duragesic patch.I still ache but it is tolerable!
1) I got to visit with my B/F from Texas, she pampered me, cleaning, having me soak my feet and clip my nails and paint them.
2) She brought me a bunch of CD's. I am listening to James Taylor, as most of you know that I love music, It warms my soul.
3) My daughter came out to visit with her 3 year old and the baby she is growing fast, 8 months old. They both have wonderful dispositions.
4) My other grandaughter turned 5 in October, she spent the night a couple of weeks ago, what a grandmas helper she has turned into.
5) I am happy to say that my ex moved out of the State! Yea!

Happy it stopped raining for now,sun is even shining! It's been warm so that's nice.

Happy my husband is coming home today. He was gone for four days hunting.
Happy that I didn't need to go over to my mom's house. I stayed home instead of running over there and trying to get things done. I've decided that it will get done later.
That's the secret Dawn, pace yourself. It can wait. I say no need to push yourself especially since the others aren't seemingly wanting to volunteer to help.
I let my brother's kids get inside my mother's house, it was my SIL suggestion as they well two were out of state and had come home. My two kids wren't there even. I thought "be nice"
Well so much for that as it just was too early. One did not even go to house but clled in her request while we were there, to others that were.
Not a good ideal looking back. But SIL still thought to ask for somethign and I gave it, drat. Now I'm thinking of telling her & brother tht since I have my head clearer (after 4 years plus) that I know who she can pass what she asked for on to... my kid, LOL she'd do it!
I know this is typically not the place for this but I just don't want to see you get hurt more Dawn. Take it slow... ;), I assume that anything really valuable is out in case of fire of break ins. That happens sometimes.

Good morning Friends,
I really have basically been made to pace myself with all of this pain, I guess I have learned that the world won't stop if I don't get the dishes out of the dishwater! Which what I need to do. Dan Is hurting bad, his left rib area. I just can't seem to find anything that I can do to help him with the pain. We are going to the Dr. today. It is cold and foggy here this morning, It sure looks pretty but I am not looking forwar to the winter. The weather change seems to make my pain worse. Now for happy things!!
1) A nice hot shower this morning!
2) Seeing all the wildlife running around, here in the country, The deer are thick so you have to be careful when driving.
3) The good memories that I have of my children when they were young, I sure wish I could go back to that time. I would change a lot of things!
4) The smell of coffee in the morning!
5) We have 5 baby kittens it is so cute to watch them chase eachother and roll around on the ground!

Isn't it amazing that in less than a year we had so many posts, Mike Weins had to break this thread into 2 separate threads! There are so many things in those posts that somethimes I need to look back at the threads. That is just my opinion!
i just that genius idea of putting here the link to the first thread, for a faster, direct access... in case we need to double check something before replying...
we could re-copy it every now and then... for awhile... ;)

Kathy,
I too am happy for the warm up, The cold has really made my joints hurt worse.
Happiness.....I really have to think hard today!
1) I got to eat out for supper. After Dan went to the Dr. We found out he has a broken rib:( . At least we know the reason why he was hurting so bad!
2) I talked on the phone with my grandaughter last night, I love hearing her sweet and innocent voice.
3) I am happy that I have been able to post for these few days in a row.
4) My Daughter is having Thanksgiving, that sure takes some of the stress off of me!
5) Most of the night I was able to sleep and so was Dan. I have been sleeping on the couch so I don't bump his ribs.

Happy I'm no longer living next to a river that floods.
Happy I don't have to cook dinner tonight.
in my eye case, bigger does not work, bold does better. so that is that and I'll choose to read as long as I can. It does help you to break up the patterns, I've heard it often enough and will always be glad to help you or anyonme out on the reading thing. We none may never know when we need it ourselves as we all get older, LOL.
I know pretty much how to do most things, even way back when how to take away everything. If I wanted too, you should just see the looks on the professionals faces. I could stump the reall smart ones that worked for the computer fix it place when I worked at a college.
But I didn't. just thought about it. Well I did something one time, I made it save things on the disk everytime unless you put it in to save it on computer. They were such sticklers about that so I never wanted to get caught again by doing it.
They did not know how to change that either. So their safety as being the professionals paid off again, for them. Cetainly not fore the ones that knew more about computers and software. What I did not know or know now, I ask hubby, LOL

:) i'm happy i finally had my eye exam last friday... and i'm impatiently waiting for my new reading glasses that should arrive possibly on friday of next week
trying to bold this reply... and see if it is of any help ;)
I forget to bold it sometimes before and most of the time if I forget and see that it did not, I go back and bold it before the time expires. I run accross many others on other threads that say they have eye problems as well. Repeating myself a lot here lately too but if it ehlps others as well I will continue as I hate to think of some that cannot even read much. I started worrying about my eye sight in earnest in '02 after that eye doctor's visit. It is that way every visit even when I change doctor's, it just follows me around, LOL. Get the same bad news from others as well.
I do not want to worry about that or my hearing too much. I like to spread the worrying around, I worry about others as much as I do for myself., Gives my head a break that way, LOL.
Acid controller pill and two Tums later & still upset tummy. Might as well try to sleep and hope to stave off what has been following these episodes usuallly

i try and see it every year, but sometimes it is too cloudy or i miss it.
one time, several years back, a friend and i were driving along lakeshore drive, which as the name implies, runs along side the lake. lake st. clair, to be exact. we rounded a corner and there it was! the orange harvest moon was rising on the horizon and it looked like it was going to touch the earth it was so big.
i have never seen the moon like that since and every year i try. it is a magnificent memory and i hope to see that again.

I suppose I should say that I'm happy that i can rest with an unkempt house. Oherwise I'd be one miserable person all the time

Happy I cooked enough yesterday for leftover's tonight. I hate cooking when I'm grouchy & in pain!
Happy I no longer give a hoot about dust bunnies & pet fur. Who sees it anyways?
Happy I'm sticking with the leash training for Rags, however now he's showing even more things to freak out about! First it was the heat register, now it's the bathroom-hmmmm. He had never been in the bathroom before & I had no idea he would freak about it. Add all this to his refusal to go inside my small trailer or the basement. What a neurotic doggie I have! The second he pulls on the leash I stop & give him my "shhh" sound. He gets a dog biscuit as a treat when I'm finished & I'm adding new places to go each time.
I'm happy hubby eats just about anything. He was watching the Dirty Jobs show last night & I served a turkey slice meal. It did not lok any better than the surimi ground fish that they showed on there :p I ate peanut butter & milk myself.
I am happy to be doing laundry. My washroom and all is still messed up but so what, we have a path thru it all anyway :D. Not kidding about the paths.
Happy to know it's time to get back busy so I'll bid everyone goodbye

Happy to get an email from MamaSue & she's doing great!Laurie I will PM her address to you & also anyone else that remembers her & wants to get in touch. I met Sue on the suicide survivor's thread & this young lady has been through far too much in life. Anytime I feel sorry for myself I think of Sue & how she lost both her boys to a rare terminal illness & then her DH committed suicide last year! She's a true survivor.....
Kathy,I'm glad you can use the cane. Walkers have their purpose but are we ready for old age symbol's like that? NO!!

Happy to have talked to my two youngest grandsons, and hear all about what different trucks do. The most important is Thomas the Train! WOW to be 3 again, with no worries!
Happy to finally have Thanksgiving plans set!

darn proud opf myself that i know how to cook and can actually make a whole thanksgiving dinner for the family and have everything ready at the same time!!
lmao and remembering one time when this young woman came up to me in the grocery store with a can of jellied cranberry sauce from ocean spray in her hand, and asked me how you prepare it....:D
i love thanksgiving...
i took lavan~s word for it and have been copying recipes for over an hour, tho' i won't be making them, i can dream.
I was going to tell her so but as this is the only way i can, decided to just tell her anyway - the pioneer woman ones are great. I haven't the time nor will the ole hip allow me to look further. I might make some of the muffins, as they sounded delicious.
well here's hoping everyone has a peaceful day today

Oh Lavan,I hope we get snow this year! It's cold & frosty here again today, yesterday was sunny & my youngest son came down from the mountains & cleaned the gutters & we had a short visit. I hadn't seen him in several months so made me happy he was here.
Jeannie, I also can do the entire meal & have it come out on time. There were a few years there when my brain wouldn't allow such an endeavor! I had cards in all the dishes so I'd know what went where & was rather a nervous wreck trying to remember how to cook! So very happy those days are behind me.....
Now if the Seahawks would just win a game for a change I'll be real happy!
happy to have hubby fill 3 weeks full of meds for me and label them. it is quite a job doing that with almost dead hands
happy to still be felling that i can take it easy if i want to, i want to, lol.
happy dog is inside and being wuet about it. he still wants me to read his mind tho' i can tell, i do have a few trips until i can figure out what he wants. when i get tired i tell him to lie down, he understands that i'm sure, lol.

Pati, i like to see the white snow fall, and accumulate on the landscape... what i don't like is the yukky junk on the roads and driveways... and its effect on my joints...
:) i just found my whistling inox kettle (haven't found the silex one yet )

Pati, I too am praying for a white Christmas. Funny hearing that from someone who grew up in No. California near where Tootsie lives. I have lived here for 26 years in a few days. It is so depressing when there isn't snow and everything is so gray and cold, well you know.
Happy the sun is shining,
Happy I am almost ready for Thanksgiving tomorrow! I can't wait to see everyone, including the 5 grands together!
We have had to change venue's as my 3y/o has a stomach ache and vomiting! I sure hope he feels better by tomorrow. So we will be at my Daughters home.
Have a great evening all!
i was happy to have daughter come out today and help me with some housework
happy to get some pictures back from neice, sad that the ones i really wanted were not in the box! but i know she copied them so perhaps it was an oversight, I'll be asking about them. she put them on a video disk and showed it once at a reunion, so shouldn't be a problem. i plan on retirninmg some pics to the owners, or relatives of them. my children have no need for them as they will never meet them anyway.
happy to be up late and catching up. now hoping i can go back to sleep. tomorrow will be a busy day with grand daughter and doing things.

Happy Alexa had a great time being the center of attention. She was laughing and squealing, and oh so cute! One of her twin cousins is totally mezmorized by her, and adores him. She was loving the funny faces he made for her for almost an hour!

that was a great yipee or however you said it dawnn, lol. i am happy for you as well. they needed homes and will make someone else happy now and lighten up your work load and relieve you mind a tad as well.
I love animals, but i know my limit myself!!! my old dog is my limit. my grandpup is too rambuncious way to much so!! like him but don't like him jumping up on couch and getting into my face. uugh. cute to look at tho'
hubby grabbed the puppy's face, it made grandson mad so he hit at pappy. was kinda funny until he got into trouble. that would not have been plesant to see, grandson getting a spanking. but i too am going to thump that little needle nose if he keeps going for my nose, lol.
happy to have sunshine today. we are suppoose to get rain/snow showere but that is sunshine that i see outside my windows.

We made a tree with 750 lights & we have other decorations outside plus music (that comes over your radio. Neighbors can't hear it)
I imagine you kids are having a wonderful time with that thing. Halloween was great also I imagine. We are in the process of putting outside the white deers and the three anels I made and painted. Hubby is making a Merry Christmas sign but has stopped for now. He waits until almost Christmas and then gets going again. I kinda like having it all done. We haven't put up a tree yet either.

Joy, I will be starting to put up my outdoor decorations this week! I havseveral animated deer, a few trees and two wreaths to place on each side of the garage on the lamps.
I was hoping to get my saws out this summer and make a santa's sleigh then make a huge Santa to sit in it. I have small reindeer, but the wrong size. OH well, another year.
I do have all my ornaments in the livingroom to decorate my tree as soon as I can get some help bringing the tre upstairs! I tried last yeat to do it myself, I got it up here, but had major pain past the new year.
I also need to get out shopping, sigh, my least favorite of all things during the holiday times!
I will start writing cards next week, Demi's this week.
Christmastime is such a busy wonderous time! And yes exhausting, but so worth it! I do love Christmastime! I love taking my grands to see the lights around the neighborhood. We have a circle up the street, that put on a huge show each year along with a real Santa handing out candy canes on Christmas eve!
I also love the family traditions! Each year they seem to grow! Now we have Christmas eve at my Daughters, she is the hostess with the mostest!
I hope everyone is having a great day!

I'm happy I went to the Christmas Parade last night, even happier that I got to ride in front where it was warm. The kids love the firefighters walking along and handing out candy as well. I used to ride in the BIG firetruck but a new firefighter has a small boy and to his delight, got to ride with his dad in the big truck this year. It was all in great fun and a good place to see families out together all having a good time.
I'm in the mood to straighten & clean, just can't for the pain. It still however makes me feel good to know that I'm just not lazy. I'd clean if I could.
Wonderful sunshine and lots of outside critters to watch even at this time of year here.

in our house, there is so much noiw stacken in boxes, laundry baskets full of food stuff from the torn down cabinets, etc. that our dog can't get many places in our house. As it is, he has to back up most of the time from places he goes into. It gets rather crowded with the both os us wanting to get out of any room, LOL. Maybe just a bit of straightening before we trip over one another and hurt something.
now I really do have to get off the computer, again. It keeps calling me back today! I heard from Krissi and wanted to say that she's home.
I checked other things while I was online, LOL, gonna leave now.....
happy to be back again this morning. I'm spending more time on computer than I'd like. Methinks perhaps I've not eaten enough food for the amount of pills I'm required to take. I can't be the only person that can't move much after breakfast or else ole idigestion like stuff hits, or maybe I'm just not polite and shouldn't mention it, LOL.
happy that hubby has tree down & the light on. but it needs more....slow going today for us both
I'm happy that the remenant carpet we bought for about $63 is covering a nice big area in the living room. Dog loves it as well, LOL. No pad or anything, just right on the hardwood floor. Of course I'm dreading any spills so will have to be careful about that, and kids....:p

Good morning Friends,
Thank you so much for keeping this thread alive. I need it. It is so easy to fret about the little things forgetting that we can find happiness in the small things too!
1) The Christmas tree is up and some of the presents are wrapped!
2) My grandaughter is comming over this afternoon, I will admit I get tired of cartoons but I love her company. She is 5 now. I am happy that she still will cuddle with me!
3) I have lost 30 pounds, I am feeling a little more like my old self, even though I have more weight to lose!
4) It is going to be a nice day, warm for this time of year but tonight the cold air will come in.
5) We heat mostly with wood, a big stove in the basement that pushes the warm air through the vents. I like wood heat although it can be messy.

That is what I did prior to my accident, I worked direct line for a few years and then became a Case Manager/Social Worker for the same group. I still keep in touch with many of them and am guardian for 5 right now. I am sure they enjoy your time with them. Christmas was sometimes a sad time for folfks with no families, so I always made a special run to those folks with small gifts, that the ARC had not taken care of. Robin, have you ever found that you don't recognize in your eyes they have disabilities? As for the "teenager in her mothers eyes" That has always been an irritation to me. You place goals in front of anyone and they will work the best they can to meet those goals, especially with someone in that setting.
Thank you for the nice things you said about Social Workers, I have always tried my best for everyone I have worked for! I was supposedly working for the State, but in my heart I worked for my people!

I have a hard time keeping track of everyone but, that is great because that means that more people keep joining in!

2) We are getting an arctic blast, It is down right cold with flurries. But I like to watch the snow fly from the warmth of the house!

Nana4&cntn, In my eyes those people at the day program and my teenage friend are equal and no, I don't "see" thier disabilities!!! They try thier darndest to do things and well its something to see thier determination on thier faces. I guess I see that because I face challenges like that on a daily basis, and I want people to recognize me for the person I am inside and not for the person you visually see sitting in the wheelchair because unfortunately a handful of people see the chair first. Because of the extend of my brain injury from my Cerebral Palsy I have a slight speech problem and at times its hard to understand me and it frustrates me that some people also don't take me seriously like I don't understand what's said to me when I really do!!! Sorry I got long winded there, but you asked the question and there's your answer!!! :p
I was smiling ear to ear when we went to the "Undergraduate Research And Senior Design Engineering Project Exposition" at the nearby college. My son is a Sr. & in groups they did projects. His/theirs was about monitoring solar energy. To see all the young 'future engineers' (and perhaps cuz they were all dressed up in ties & some in suits, not jeans & t-shirts) made me so happy. Really it did, I couldn't stop smiling.
JAVISI, That would be neat to see several deer. BTW... did you know that male reindeer shed their antlers in the fall. Santas reindeer must be female.

Lor,
for some deers, only males grow antlers... but for the reindeer/caribou, the female also has them, but because they don't fight like males, theirs stay on longer... i had to check on wikipedia, because i was sure only males had them... huh... it's true that we learn something everyday, like Robin said...
:) happy to have my cyber-friends sharing their little happinesses with me... and also helping me learn something new everyday !

Robin,
Great North - did you see that amazing imax movie... a must see !
we can see a scene where a mama reindeer gives birth, full imax screen... very touching... it brought tears to my eyes...
"The caribou, in Canada, and its close cousin in Sweden, the reindeer."
"In the Arctic reaches of Sweden, the Saami people learned to tame the reindeer even before other cultures elsewhere on our planet learned to domesticate the horse. The Saami are the cowboys of the North, and we're invited to the autumn round-up to join them as they care for their herds of reindeer."
this a link to an example of this movie now available in dvd format on ebay:

Wow, Kay you posted a lot of things to be happy for. I love it! My dad comes from a family of 13 too and he is also the baby. It is so hard to get everyone togeather for the holidays. I will admit I haven't seen a ;ot of my cousins in years. I am hoping that I am healthy enough to go this year!
1) It is snowing and cold but it sure is pretty on the blue spuces that are here. We planted another batch this last year.
2) The sun is not up, Dan is sleeping and I am enjoying posting and having a hot cup of coffee.
3) I hope to get my Christmas cards out today!
4) We have plenty of meat (Deer) So we definatly wont starve. I made a recipe that my daughter gave to me. It started out as my recipe but she added a few more ingrediants and boy did that make it taste better.
5) Dan is sleeping in, he is always up by now but he has been getting up and feeding the wood stoves every 2 hours so he really deserves to sleep in. What a great guy I have!

I was tickled to see some pics, I could just stare at that scenery and lose myself in the beauty of those fields etc. I'd love to take a romp out there with Rags as well. I can just imagine how playful he must be. Even if Meanness is an old dog, he can act like a youthful puppy at times, outside anyway. He absolutely loves for us all to be outside together.
I just know Rags is one tall dog, LOL, I'd just love to see for myself! Well, it'd be nice to see people as well ;). I get carried away by animals, guess ya can tell, LOL.

Happy my oldest son called to thank me for the Christmas card I sent to hin and his gf, I wrote that I really wanted her to come to Christmas along with her son. There is some bad blood between my mom, myself and the gf. It didn't help that the first thing my mom said to her was "The mother of the twins will always be family and come first" I felt so bad for her. I think things will be better now if mom keeps her mouth shut. My mom doesn't have a mean bone in her body, she just blurts out what is in her mind, sometines at the worse possible time.
Happy I am coming out of my funk, we hopefully will have a white Christmas. We got about 3-4 inches of powdery shimmery snow today! It is truly a beautiful sight!

OMG, there's a deer in the backyard! I got some pic's but it's snowing so hard I doubt the deer will be visable! I gotta get out there & spread some feed now....../B]
Javasi, I love the look of fresh, clean snow. On the trees it is so lovely. I'm so upset about something. When we moved in there was a big blue spruce in the backyard, at least 50 ft tall. But it was in the middle of the yard & a few years later, since the family wanted a pool and it went from driveway on one side & almost to the fence on the other, you guessed it, we had it cut down. Blue Spruces are so perfect. They are likely the kind you see on Christmas cards. Except for a little bit now & then recently, we had the 1st accumulating snowfall late yesterday and overnight -- 3 inches. This morn as my DH drove me to work, I told him "look at the snow on the trees (pines)".

Blue spruce....many years ago I planted a small one @ a rental, went back after 20 yrs & was amazed it was still there & of course very large. I dug it up in the mountains one year. Only see them here if landscaped in,we have fir, hemlock & cedar for the most part.

Happy my brother stopped by today, he looks horrible. He is about 5'10" and probably weighs 120lbs! He is going to spend Christmas with my dad in California. I sure hope when I get him to the airport he gets on the plane!
Pati, wouldn't a female deer this time of year already have sent her wee ones off on there own? She would be looking to be bred for the spring. I am guessing, deer here are a lot smaller than those out there. Probably close to 2/3rds the size if not smaller.

Pati,
i also had happy moments feeding deers with alfalfa/clover small rectangular bales i was buying from farmers around during a few winters i have been living in that mobile home in the woods, on deer land... close to rivers and lakes... (unfortunately hunting territory!)
Kathy,
from what i was told, and have observed over many years living on deer lands... (at least 3 years at one place, and 5 years at another one) deers give birth to one or two bambinos/fawns, sometimes, none at all... in our area, between may and june full moon... the bambinos will stay with their mom until she gives birth again... and during winter, all the deers remain together in specific protected areas from the snow and the wind, often underneath big evergreens... for many years, i had huge evergreens right next to my mobile house, and deers would sleep underneath them... i would see them when i got up early, before sunrise... very touching to see deers sleep 5-10 feet next to your bedroom... the ones we have here are white tail deers, i think they're much smaller than the red deers in the west...
*paw i just come back from the vet for *****'s repeat shots... happy to realize that she is very outgoing with every dog we met in there, shih tzus & boxers... and people, adults and children... a lady with a little 8 yo girl were there to buy a bag of food for their dog and while waiting at the cash, they were petting her and letting her kiss them abundantly... the little docked tail was wagging non stop !

I think this deer is completely alone. Mother might have been killed? I do live in an area of nitwits that would kill anything afterall......such as a rare owl one year!
Happy no wind here YET. Getting ready for power outage just in case.
Happy I managed half a walk through the field here, the snow is so deep it's like dragging through cement!
Happy to hear ***** is so friendly, bet not many kids would have an urge to pet Rags.As for tail wagging, well his could sweep the floors for me if he wanted.

kids don't have to bend over to pet rags... would he let a toddler grab his fur to hold himself while learning to walk ? (maybe upon close supervision)
a sweeping floor wagging tail... huh... ok, my next dog wont have it's tail docked !!! :D
a few years ago, closeby, a cracked nut, from his truck along the secondary highway, killed a totally albinos white tail deer that was in the field... and he left... he has been seen from far away, but not close enough to identify him...

the shelter probably thought that rags could get annoyed by hyperactive youngs kids... they think the same way with chihuahuas... sometimes, i think that that they don't really know...

Happy it is still going to be warm today, although not as warm as yesterdays 55 degrees.
Happy I will be going shopping to use my gift cards and rebates from a store I shopped at. I also need to take my camera back as it wont charge, and the opener area is broken.
Happy thoughts of my twins spending this week in a Mexican resort with their family and some they have never met that live in Mexico. What a wonderful experience for them!
Happy the new year is coming, as I also am tired of being broke! Of course it was of my doing, I went a bit over on my Christmas budget!

Lavan, That's AWESOME!!! Did someone get you the W and D?? It's about time something is looking up for you!!
Well, I'm happy today because it was close to 60 degrees here in VA (a heat wave for this time of the year) and I got out and rode around town. I have Seasonal effective disorder and it helps my depression when I can get out in warm weather and the sunshine!! :)

Robin,
they're 2nd hand machines i purchased at the salvation army thrift store 1 month before i moved... i moved here between oct. 1st & oct. 25th, but i just found the energy to hook them up yesterday... the movers only put furniture where you want but they don't plug anything... since this is something i could do myself, i didn't want to hire anybody to do it for me ($$$)... with all these moves this year, the yukky weather, and everything that was happening here, i was so drained and depressed... i was just waiting for a little energy boost... which probably happened because of this...
:p glad that my landlady seemed to be in good spirit on christmas evening... she came down with the local paper (for the 1st time) and wished me merry christmas... and told me that the local snowshoeing trail was now in good condition...

1) Dan's son is going to stay until the 30th, and he is happy about it. He also loved his Christmas presents!
2) I didn't splurge on all the goodies that were made at Dan's family Christmas, I am still working on losing weight!
3) Things seemed to cool down with my mom since I talked to my dad, He must have talked to my mom!
4) It is supposed to be warmer than usual for this time of year!
5) I fel like I am relaxing some with the holidays, That will be soon past tense!
Dreaming big and Reaching for the Stars, Laurie
We have an abundance of that glorious sunshine today!
the birds and squirrels are having their breakfast as usual and I enjoy peeking out at them.
My old dog is acting better than he did. He enjoyed a good night's sleep (ah I shouldn't tell this) (but I will, of course, to you all) on the mattress that I had on the floor the other night. Grand kid had a friend over but still needed me near, so out came the mattress. Dog slept outside the door that night. The second night, I was in bed with grand child and watching Tv before it was time to slip onto the mattress on floor. Well the dog promptly claimed it for himself!
I could tell he was comfortable. So I left him alone. Hubvy would be furious with me. If he thought it'd do any good, LOL.
In any case, the dog's hip seems to be better. I think he knows why we sleep on mattresses now, for sure. He did not get to sleep there another night as I closed the door and he had to stay out.
Time now to put up the mattress and start taking down the Christmas tree and boxing up all the decorations.
There is always something that can be done in a house. Especially if you'll just look for it, LOL.
I hope everyone has a good Monday, all day long. And not a week long of all Mondays!

Happiness!
1) I am trying to remember that happiness comes from the inside! I am working on it!
2) The kids were happy with their presents even though I didn't spend as much as I usually do!
3) I will get my check soon, I hate being broke!
4) I feel like Ican relax today without feeling guilty. I picked up some early this morning and folded a load of laundry! I am proud of myself!
5) I have all of you to share my feeling with! It truely helps to vent!
Dream Big, Javi
grand child called yesterday to say she had made it there safe. She sounded blue already tho'
we have that sunshine again today and it has warmed up to 55 degrees already. Not bad for a winter day!
I have to look forward to keeping the other grand child tonight & tomorrow. This is my reasons for finding something to be happy about every day. I truly feel bad for my friend Martha who has no grand kids. I know she is sad not only for herself, but for her daughter (especialy) since she is married and no kids so far. Her son is a selfish type person & has never married. So no need feeling sorry for that kid (man, really but acts like a kid, it's all about HIM)
whew kinds spilled over here but I do really feel sorry for friend as I REMEMBER all to well those holiday times when I was childless and it made me so sad.
So no matter how bad I really feel, now that hubby & I did get kids (and they don't get along) at least we do have grand kids!!
(I have an un-named friend here that I feel bad for as well, I just don't say so. But I'm hoping things will change before many more years for this friend as well) ;) dogs are great but kids can smile & win even a hard-he:Darted man over quickly

Today was a happy day for me.The organization that I get services from had an "after Christmas, Christmas party" for the clients. Because of transportation issues for me they had the party here at my apartment and they brought EVERYTHING but the kitchen sink!!! :D I was able to see my old advocate that i lost last week, she was here, so I was thrilled to death!! I still miss her alot and I'm still getting used to my new person. I suggested that this was so much fun we should do this more then once a year (at Christmas). I suggested a Valentine's Day party and someone else suggested that we celebrate whoever has a birthday each month, so I guess we'll do this each month here at my place!! Anyway, I just wanted to share my HAPPY day with you all!! :)

For today the happy list would only have one thing on it and it is special to me.
Every years eve for many of years a group of us, who are close, get together and ring in the new year. It's special for the reason these are the people who are there for us through all the good times and bad times.
I still can recall all the years that Christmas & New Year's Eve time just meant a group of us getting together & me being the only one without KIDS. Needless to say, they aren't happy memories. But I can sympathise with my long time friend whose daughter doesn't seem to be able to have kids. No word yet but I think her husband is against adopting kids. I feel for any woman that is attached to a man who will not consider his mate's being childless and HER feelings! so that makes me very happy that my own mate
Did consider adopting kids, Yay for us! Things might not be running smoothly between those two kids but at least I have them. That's a plus, especially since they both have one kid each! The best part is always the grand kids I think, LOL.

Welcome LizBeth! I love your unicorn. Good luck with the surgery! I trimmed my bangs yesterday......
I spoke too soon about the power-it's out now! Using my battery but it's getting too dark to see how to type....
I'm happy to see new ones onboard. Welcome welcome.
I have my nights so terribly messed up but so far, I am just sleeping any time I want to anyway so I'm just going with that for now. Kinda sensless to fight it I figure. Especially as long as I sleep some!
Hubby got the leaves mowed & grass also and the lawn looks so nice now.
I am happy that I got really good night's sleep last night. I rarely sleep over 4 to 5 hours at a time anymore. But last night I managed more than that. And I am happy that that awful toothache or I should say mouth ache is gone this morning. I was really getting worried about that for sure.
Whew, once you ever have TN, the fear never leaves you!

i am happy that while my pain hasn't left completly, it hasn't fired up like i know it could have. that's a big okay with me on that one for sure.
i am happy that when i looked outside today, i got a warm feeling cause it all looked so peaceful outside. made me think of an early spring day, here in january even, it won't be that long folks.
let's keep the faith in ole mother nature and all the good things that are provided for us to enjoy on earth and it's wonders. no matter the season, there is always something beautiful to look at.

I am elated, I have absolutely NOTHING i need to go out for! We had blizzard conditions last night, I thought the wind would never stop it;s howling and blowing, not much snow so that is great!
I do have things around the house to do, but today is my day off!:D
I am going to catch up on some fun stuff, and read threads I have missed, because of being so busy.

:) i don't have to go anywhere except move my car for snowplowing... as it's very windy… and tonight and the next 2 nights, temperature will drop down to -28*C/-18*F and to -31*C/-24*F friday night… and that’s not including the windshield… back up to a warmer temperature of -20*C/-4*F on saturday, yay !!
i remember in 1994, we had 2 weeks of -45*C in january... my car motor broke dead on a friend's driveway, and no towing was available because everyone was stuck on higlways and all towings were only doing priority calls (accidents and ppl that were stuck on public ways)
same week, my mobile home furnace froze and the plumbing blew... i had been away downtown for only 2 days and i was in shock it when i came back with a friend, as my car was dead, accompanied with visitors... as the house was for sale... needless to tell you they didn't buy it !!
Having that get-together over with. There were about 14 all together, counting myself & hubby worked so long I advised him to get a plate & eat as well. He retired to the computer room and was back in kitchen as soon as the ladies left to help me put the remaining food up. What a relief to have it over with. But I am glad I tried it and with his help, pulled it off. whew.

Happy I had a good time with my mom today after her Dr. appt, we went out to dinner and had a great time. She is asleep on my couch, making her regular little noises she has made all my life! Good memories!
Happy I don't have any where to go tomorrow as it is going to be incredibly cold!
Happy Sammy my cat is finally asleep, he is laying on his side with his head rolled back and paws curled up by his head! Bad description, but oh do cute!
Happy to have a nice warm house and a good bed! I know sometimes I take things for granted.
Tonite, I am praying the homeless are in shelters and warm with full bellies! I am calling tomorrow to see if there is something I can do to help, either helping to coordinate finding folks who need help. Getting taxi vouchers to get to the shelters and for God's sake get the old guys hwo refuse to go to the shelters to go. I just can't handle hearing of another death due to the cold due to lack of shelter! I wish I had millions, so I was in a position to help all the people who need help! I know lofty ambitions!

I am happy because I got the most awesome phone call last night from my social worker from where I used to live!! It made me feel so happpppppppy!!! Its been about 2 years since I saw and talked to her last. To be reconnected with her and to hear her laughter gave me a renewed possitive energy that I have not had for some time!! That 1 1/2 hour talk we had flew by so quickly. She got me "flying" on the right track again and I thank her for that and I thank her for calling me, she truly is a special friend!! With everything that happened with Samantha and her leaving me this is what I truly needed. I've been in contact with this person throgh e-mail but because of her busy schedule the e-mails have been mostly one sided and her not being able to write back which I do understand. I was just so happy and surprised she called!! I just wanted to share my joy with you all!!! :)
