At least we hope so. Jackie is all excited and ready to go, though he doesn't really understand what's going to happen we'll be with him to make him comfortable so he can make this trip all right. I wish I could feel like I didn't forget something but sadly it feels like I already forgot stuff and am NOT finished packing, trying to decide on what to bring since it's cold up there in VA. And simply cool down here to where we're wearing jeans and no jackets.

I know you're all pulling for us to have a great time so I will post again after we're back. Maybe one more time in this thread before we go, depends sometimes threads go days with no replies so if that happens I'll just start another thread when we get back next wednesday/thursday. :)

Have a great week everyone! :D

Pam, we are WAY up here in MA and it aint that cold! I know your perspective is different since you are so used to the warm, but sweaters, sweatshirts, lined jackets & jeans should be sufficient...don't go packing the whole house...you'll drive yourself nuts!

Just relax, and enjoy, it's a vacation right, let it be, K!?

And don't worry about others, just give yourself and your family a break, a well deserved break!

I can't wait to hear all about it!

I think we'll be all right clothingwise, it's gonna get to the forties and upper 30's there in DC while we're there with one or two days of rain. Hopefully the hotel has an indoor pool. :D LOL!!! :D

Forget the pool, go leaf-peeping! It's SO pretty up here right now!

And remember, if it rains, it's not that cold! I know 40's to you must be horrifying, but once your body adjusts, it really isn't all that bad.

We'll see about going outside, Jackie is so unpredictable we'll just have to guage things as we meet them, headon...:) I think an indoor pool will do him a lot of good to get out all that energy he'll have built up on the drive there. :)

Whatever you guys do, I'm sure you'll have a blast!

Try not to anticipate the worst...I know that's hard, particularly with irratic behavior, but really try to relax, I'm sure Jackie will respond favorably to that!

Just enjoy the time with him and let him know when you are - as much as possible! Allow yourself to let some stuff go...it's a vacation, don't worry about others - you'll never see them again, you can go back to strict parenting when you get home...for a couple days allow yourself & Jackie a little space to 'slack' a bit...

What would Mili say, create some of those positive episodic memories...that's the wrong term I think, but I'm sure you get my gist...

Before you stress or react, try to first think about how important it really is...or WHAT is more important, ya know? Get a smile on both your faces, and don't let them leave!

I'll be sending loads & loads of pleasant vibes your way!!!!

Pam, the best way to pack, is to include at least ONE of everything....one short sleeve shirt, one long sleeve shirt, etc. You can use pajamas as underwear when it is cold. I use silk long johns and long sleeve undershirt for pajamas and then wear them under jeans or dress pants if it is cold. One pair of warm socks for DH and Jackie also helps, especially at night if you're inclined to have a cold foot.
