Many people here will know bntgal (Dar), who was an established member on the MS board here when I signed up (2001) and would like to remain a member. But she can't register.

She can't get past a message telling her "Sorry, we can't register you at this time."

Does anyone have any suggestions? I've posted this message in Forum Feedback too.

Sorry about the trouble you are having. I was all set to jump into a reply because I once had such a problem. (SSusan posted a message for me the way Agate posted one for you!)

But, I never got the message you got! I was not getting the confirmation emails--and did not even know I was not getting them. Webtv was bouncing them as spam. I finally opened a free Yahoo email account and that is where all Braintalk email comes--even notices of replies to posts.

So, I do not know what to say but it could be relevant so I wrote my experience.

I've been looking for you! Email me if there is anything you want me to do....

I had to change my name and I am still haviing to sign in a few times before it takes my new info. Can you contact a moderator and ask them?

Have a great day.

I could not use my old name and password. I had to use a Different e-mail address, new name and password. Hotmail.com is one way to get a different e-mail account for free.

Dar (bntgal) says she can't even get to the place where she could enter a user name/e-mail addy.

Can she try it from a different computer and different server (maybe one at the library or soemthing) and see if that works?

When I registerd, I had lots of trouble too.

Be sure she knows that she needs to put in her birthdate info at the first screen to get in to registration info. When one clicks "REGISTER", that's the first screen -- then you can head from there. DAR can make information private later if she does not want it known, but she does need to provide it to click through.

Also if she does not specifically accept the user agreement in the box, she may not be able to proceed, etc. I ran into trouble when I put that I referred myself to the board this time. So when I went back and left that area blank, it let me proceed just fine, but I did have to re-enter my password I wanted. There are penty of places to "glitch", even once you get in.

If she's having MAJOR issues, the best advice is to contact JLester for help.

It makes no sense that old user names wouldn't be available unless someone else has already signed up with your old name. I am using my same name and same old e-mail this time, and everything went through just fine. I am not sure why your old e-mail would not work -- or your old name, unless there have been myriad sign-ups and someone had a really "hot" (popular) user name. But still, your e-mail should still work. That's worth asking about whatever the case!

Hope this helps. :)

Dar,
I clicked on register and put in the same information I had last time. I could not see the box with numbers in it..nothing was there so it made me keep trying and I left it blank. I left it on for a while and then kept hitting clear and doing it again and again.

It didn't recognize my email it said, and then many other notes, but I persisted. I kept using the same one I always had, password the same too.

Finally it said an e-mail would be coming. It never did. Then it said thank you for logging in, all by itself.

I went to MS forum right away and went to edit my profile. It was saying I could not post at the time.

But after the edit and adding an avatar.. it said I could post. I hope some of this helps.:)
See ya soon,
Lady

Hiya Everyone! Can't tell you how great it is to post again!

BBS and Elizabeth I read your posts and figured out there were two things I did wrong. So I tried registering on my husband's laptop and I had no problems at all. Last week I remembered getting a screen with months and dates but it wasn't all there, so I didn't know it was a screen to enter my birth date. I just put in the date and then it wouldn't go any further. After that I didn't even get that screen, I would only get the message that my account couldn't be registered. On my husband's computer the full page appeared along with the simple direction to enter MY birthdate. What a difference a full screen makes. I don't know why I didn't realize that screen was for my birthdate not just the date. :(

So problem solved. Thanks for the help everyone and for the suggestions. Thanks especially to you agate for posting for me so that I could eventually get here and be with everyone again.

Sincerely,
Dar

Hi Ya Dar,
How have your been? I am glad to see you finally got in. Welcome Home!:)

Don't be a strange now. Anything exciting happening? Vacations, family trips, Curt or any up/down times for you?

Before you ask, and I know you will my dear, this is what is going on with me.

I think I caught your relapse month or close to it. :( September got me again, like last year. (sigh) I am on oral Prednisone, so far so good.

I got a bad Sinus infection that started before the relapse, so the doctor is contributing that as a factor. I am on Anti-B's too, as the Sinuses are so close to the brain.

Take care and be well,
Lady

PS: Agate you are so helpful to everyone. Three cheers to you. Rah! Rah! Rah!
