Cry Tears

So thankful that I found this web site....Braintalk has saved my life!
Several summers ago I was so fatigued I couldn't even groom myself.
I spent the summer being 90% bedridden.
Once in awhile I'd have enough energy to brush my teeth, but for a full shower, I needed help.
I was going downhill fast and all the doctors in Oregon didint have a clue.
I have/had Crohns disease, Hashi-Motos auto immune hypo-thyroid, Fibromyalgia, damaged nerve after gallbladder surgery, Peripheral neuropathy everywhere in my body including my face.
I also had complete loss of balance diagnosed differently by each neurologist I saw.
I was told I 1st had Polymyostis, Polyrhuematica, Meneirs disease and hypochondria.....sick of the rolleyes I received from disinterested doctors I just pulled the covers over my head and resolved myself to an untimely death.
I just wanted it to be over as quick as possible because I was suffering greatly.
I didn't have the strength to sit in my chair to use the computer, so my husband got a laptop for me with wireless connection.
I wanted to know the reason I had Peripheral Neuropathy, why my lips burned as if on fire, why my balance was terribly off, why I was so fatigued I couldn't function, why my spine hurt feeling like electric shock when I put my chin to my chest.
I was told I may have ALS....but several attempts for muslce biopsys ordered by my Rhuematologist were never done....paper work always missing etc.
I was a mess! Imagine had I not found BT...I know I'd be dead by now.
Here's how my journey towards healing began:
I logged onto Braintalks in late August.
Taking weeks of seaching till I finally it.
My brain function was on the level of an imbacile! Its a wonder I ever found it.
I found the forum for Peripheral Neuropathy....read the information that Rose had written regarding the fact that PN can be caused by a B12 deficiency.
But my levels were normal....232  who knows the true level as I was drinking a liquid supplment loaded with B12...but instead of turning up my nose and saying..."Rose is no doctor....so what does she know?".....well she knows a whole lot more than most doctors do regarding B12!
I took her advice...or lets say my husband took her advice and I got my first bottle of Methlycobalamin sublingual B12 on September 3 2004.
10 days later, my personal helper came to help me with grooming, housework etc...my husband works at home, but he needs time alone to do his job.
No way could I be left alone as I was doing "crazy" things that didnt make sense. So every few days Ruby would come over to help with my care.
On Sept 13, Ruby arrived to help....I got up and helped with a load of laundry, even vacuumed a bit. She was shocked to see me up out of bed doing something. That was the day I started to "Live" again.
My PN was just awful....and no way could I tolerate the meds given for this condition as I have severe allergies to medications. Doctors actually furious with me because I refused to take higher doses of Neurontin that only made me feel like my head was in a fish bowl.
It did nothing to help my PN,so why take it? That June I had an EMG and NC testing that proved I had moderate PN with classic sock glove pattern. I knew the PN was in my intestines, face and other parts of my body...but I refused further EMG testing...what did I have to prove anyway...I knew what I had. What for?!?!?
Little by little I'd gain some energy. My PN began to abate. My spine stopped hurting. My muscle twitching began to subside. My lips stopped burning 100% first time in years!
The B12 was working! I'd been scheduled to visit the Mayo CLinic after my Rhuemy referred me there...so I kept my October 2 week appointment despite my feeling better. They confirmed that my "problems" were indeed caused by the B12 defieincy....and repeated the EMG and NC testing. It was now completly normal! How could this be? From Junes testing proving I had a moderate case...to 100% normal in mid October!
So I would have to say I am a sucess as far as B12 healing some of my problems.
I still continue to suffer from Fibromyalgia, Crohns, GB pain, HypoThyroid, and a few other health issues....so I'm not 100% cured...but I'm not suffering anywhere near what I was 2 years ago.
I've had some setbacks when I failed to continue with taking the B12, and my PN and other issues came back full force....thankfully I got back on my regiment and am feeling back to "normal" again.
I just can't imagine others not taking the advice on such a simple solution to a possible "cure" for some of these health issues.
They want to listen to their doctors advice only because they have the misconception that they are gods who know everything....that their word is truth....and anyone who doesn't carry a PhD or medical training is not worthy of listening to.
But where does one get their training....how do they learn?
Should be throw away good advice only because they aren't university trained in the medical feild? No way! And just because one has been trained means nothing when they've only been taught to push drugs and not more than 2 weeks spent learning about vitamins and suppliements.
You would have thought that perhaps my having several bowel resections, missing a good portion of my small intestines, my long bout of gastrointestinal problems they would have considered B12 as the cause! But they didn't! Every single one of them failed me miserably....despite my asking point blank if this could be vitamin or mineral deficiency!
Doctors have been advised over and over again regarding what they've learned years ago regarding B12 is antiquated and outdated...giving good information that should be passed along to thier patients.
But are they taking time to read any of this information? Few, sadly, very few. Thats why some people suffer needlessly...and I was one of them till I found Braintalk!
Blessings to all. Cheryl
