What symptoms do you have? My GP wants to send me to be tested. Thinks I have Adult ADD. I would like to compare symptoms with others, please.

Thanks
Tracey

I know you from long ago...
I think the number one symptom would have to be distractability.
Certain medications can cause symptoms that are very similar to adult ADD.
High blood pressure, stress and problems with sleeping can help to contribute to this as well.
Even a small amount of ADD medication can be helpful. Two that come to mind are Ritalin or Provigil.
In addition, the B vitmains and Fish Oil might help out.
I have found that using a daily planner and reading up on organizing techniques to be beneficial.
My favorite book on the topic is ADD Friendly ways to Organize Your Life. There are tons of other good books like this at the library!
Wishing you well.

I am 22 years old and have been diagnosised with ADD when I was 8 years old and I am still on medication to treat it and I know I still have it. With having ADD you tend to get distracted real easily. You have a hard time staying focused on one thing, for example you are trying to clean your place up but you turned on the TV for no apparent reason. Now instead of cleaning you are watching TV. One thing I notice myself do a lot is "space off", or when someone is talking to me my mind will tend to start thinking about something else and not what the person is saying. Another symptoms is you might notice that you do a lot of dumb things. Well hope this helps.

The biggest thing that I notice is the background noise. When I am trying to focus on something and there is a noise in the background (whether it be TV, water dripping, people talking, ect) it drives me insane! I cannot focus and I get extremely irritable.

I am also very easily distracted. Finishing college was a holy living nightmare there for awhile.
