About The Stem Cell Leadership Summit
It is with great pleasure that we convene the first Stem Cell Leadership Summit to be held Friday, October 13, 2006 at the Norton's Woods Conference Center, at the American Academy of Arts and Sciences in Cambridge, Massachusetts. This interactive symposium will explore the promises and challenges of stem cell science through the lenses of ethics, policy and business. Inspired by and designed for community, business, healthcare and governmental leaders, the focus of this daylong event is to advance the nation’s debate on stem cell science and to offer participants an active role in this effort. The summit is made possible by the generous support of the Massachusetts General Hospital Innovation Fund of the Center for Regenerative Medicine and the Harvard Stem Cell Institute.
Many misconceptions surround stem cell biology. It is, therefore, imperative that we, as industry, academic and medical leaders, collaborate to address the critical questions facing us: How will stem cell research impact the future potential to cure diseases, to move the US economy forward and to secure opportunities for innovation?
Rarely in one’s lifetime does the opportunity arise when science opens a new vista that promises to change human wellbeing for centuries to come. Please join us at The Stem Cell Leadership Summit as we strive to ensure that the revolutionary research of stem cell science continues to advance.
