Thank you for nay help!
I have a client who has had breast cancer and was treated several years ago She is since, cancer free and has frequent check ups/blood tests, etc.
This poor dear worries continuously about the cancer returning, to the point of nearly paralyzing her ability to enjoy life. She has severe anxiety attacks. In the course of interview, her answers to my questions indicated to me the possibility that she was experiencing menopause, to an extreme extent.
She saw her physician the following week and underwent a blood test which revealed, in fact, she is in the midst of major menopause. Unfortunately, as many of you already know, she cannot undergo hormone replacement therapy. As a matter of fact she takes a horemone blocker.
I believe she is on way too much psycho-pharmo medication and it is clearly not helping. Currently her Physician has her on: Zoloft 200mg AM,
Buspar 7 mgs x2 daily, Terazadone 50 to 100 mgs PM, Atavan .5 as needed when severely nervous, plus the estrogen blocker.
She will be seeing a psychiatrist next week for a med check, I think, I hope. The last time she saw this same psychiatrist she was told nothing more could be done for her, by the psychiatrist and there was no need for her to come back, her personal physician could take it from there. I hope she misunderstood. That is easy enough to do when you are so traumatized and under major stress.
My question, Ahhh, finally, what, WHAT, if any, herbs and or foods, would be most beneficial for her to assist with her anxiety attacks and major depression that would not interfere with her current medication and would not harm her in terms of her need to be exempt from estrogen?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much.
