do you want to know the negative effects after having a tetanus shot? or the negative effects of getting tetanus?

if it's the shot, most people might experience discomfort in their arm where the shot was given. some people (a very small number) will get a fever, headache, flu-like symptoms like general tiredness. a minor percentage might have enough of these side effects to merit a visit to their doctor. i think children are more likely to get side effects from the shot.

i just had a tetanus shot about 2 weeks ago. my arm hurt a little and i felt tired for about 2 days. no big problem.

Looking it up, I found these possibilities for those treated and survived:

Full recovery
Residual weakness, stiffness, and other complaints may persist for a prolonged period
psychological after effects
damage to mental function
tracheal stricture

Then there can be the debility resulting from damage during the tetany such as resulting from vertebral fractures resulting in kyphosis and reduced flexibility and mobility and pain.

The effects of tetanus toxin on the autonomic nervous system are probably
the main causes of different conditions seen in post-tetanus follow-up.
Among 25 adult tetanus survivors who were followed up for 3 months to
11 years, various proportions of them had symptoms of irritability, sleep
disturbances, seizures, clonic spasms, decreased libido, postural hypotension,
and electroencephalographic abnormalities (Illis & Taylor 1971),
but these symptoms were generally self-limiting.
