Mimzee,
If you want you can have your kids in the room with you at the hearing. My husband came in with me. There's the judge, doctor, vocation expert, you and your attorney. My court hearing took 18 months from the time we filed for the appeal. Then the joke was it took five minutes in the room and I was done. The judge may ask you questions but they are usally easy ones. Good luck!!!!!!!!! Oh, I did win my SSDI.

At my hearing no one was allowed with me. There was me, my attorney, the judge and a vocational expert. I don't think children will be allowed at the hearing. I'm in KY.
