Hi all,
I heard that the California courts ruled that Medi-Cal (California's medicaid program) has to reimburse patients for medical cannabis purchases made with a doctor's prescription. I'm not sure if this is true or how I would go about it. Google failed me.
I don't even know if I would qualify for reimbursement since I also have medicare and medicare is a federal program and will not reimburse for it. Since I have medicare, they take care of my prescriptions. If I had just Medi-Cal they would take care of them. I'm not sure about whether medi-Cal would pick up what Medicare won't in this instance as they don't for other prescription drugs. Even if I weren't talking about medical cannabis, I feel like I'm being punished for having worked early in my life (the reason I get both medicare and medi-cal.) I'm going to have to figure that much of it out.
However, putting the whole medicare issue aside, do you know if Medi-Cal is supposed to reimburse for this? Where can I find more information?
Namaste,
Daniel
