confused:Has anyone experienced hair loss with the leak? I have been losing hair like crazy for about a year now. I am hypothyroid, but that is totally under control so I don't think that is the cause. I wondered if it was just the pain. My whole appearance has changed. I think I look like I've aged about 10 years in the last 2.
hi spots no but think my brain has aged some what, it maybe linked to ya thyroid condition but no expert , my chickens started laying eggs today we have had them for 2 months we were stating to think they were cocks instead of hens, so i can be wrong  nice to meet you

Doggone vini, when you start comparing hair loss to laying hens .... I just don't know what to think of you? LOL
My new hens aren't laying yet ... but I don't think they're cocks. Not till they 'doodle-do' anyway, they still LOOK like hens! LOL
Spots - lots of things can cause hair loss. Thyroid is a major player, but if that's under control, you might explore others.

I had a huge amount of hair loss! My tiled floors were covered in long strands of my hair daily.
My thryoid tests were normal at the time. Admittedly a year later my thryoid tests were hypothyroidism, but at the time of the hair loss they were normal.

I agree that thyroid problems can contribute to hair loss. You say that your hypothyroidism is under control but are you sure? Remember that the low pressure caused by our leaks can cause pressure on the pituitary gland which is the master gland of the thyroid. I am currently experiencing enlarged thyroid with lots of noticeable swelling almost every afternoon; however my blood work shows "normal" levels. My doctor said that until we can get my pituitary back to normal size (it is enlarged from the low pressure) that we cannot effectively treat the thyroid problem.
Could this be a factor in your hair loss as well? Something to consider. ALso, some drugs can contribute to hair loss...did you start a new one right before this started?
good luck...leaking and balness would just be tooooooo cruel.......
