Nurses will always have a special place in my heart. I was in hospital a lot and i really love them. In particular there was one who i had a special friendship with. And i will never forget her. What she did for me is what nursing is all about.

I have been trying to trace her because i wanted to send a letter and tell her how she made a difference. But i will continue to search for her.

Nurses can certainly make or break any hospital experience.

You are right. And Nurses are the best. I cant say much for the doctors though i don't like them much.

))))))))))))))))))))))Right on ((((((((((((((((((

I love them too but my last couple of encounters with them have made this tough

Twas a doctor who caused blood to spurt from my forehead but a nurse was left bearing down on the swob. The doctor was off without even a sorry. The image of the nurse bearing down on my brain to arrest the flow of blood was long to remain.

So nurses God bless them ; even dental ones , and especially mental ones.

It is so nice to hear some positive words for the Nurses. Most of the time it is the Dr. That gets the thank yous! I was a registered Nurse and loved my job! I miss it so much!

It is one of the best jobs a person can do. It is so rewarding, with and without the thank yous! It feels so good to care for others, and now that I am sick I am so appriciative of the Nurses that have cared for me. Although it feels akward to be on this side of the fence!

Thanks, Javi

I grew up in Rochester Minnesota, home of the Mayo Clinic and home to two very large hospitals; the Methodist hospital downtown and St Marys Hospital, the largest private hospital in the world. That meant there were nurses everywhere, not only to staff the hospitals, but the clinic too.

I ended up briefly working at St Marys one summer, and got to be good friends with several LPNs that worked on my floor. These nurses shared an apartment above the first pizza place in town. The Pizza store made it a practice to offer the nurses first rights to pizzas they could not deliver, so all we had to do was camp out in the apartment for an hour or so,and wait for a pizza to arrive, free of charge.... and all I had to do was bring the beer or pop, and we would have a nice party.

You can't love nurses better than I did that summer.

After the pizza, we would drive to the country club swimming pool which I would open ( I was the manager of the pool) so we could swim for a couple of hours. It really made for a great summer. The nurses were great girls, and we treated them the best we knew how, took them to movies and went to the fair and on picnics. Best of all, it helped create a good cohesive and fun hospital floor.
