Hello.

Grant has been wonderful today.

He is no longer on oxygen:D

He is now munching away at 45 mls an hour (24 hours) :D

No temperature; very little spluttering; hasn't needed suctioning today = whow!

I did not see one tonic/clonic today :D. All I saw was some eyes raised and partially rolled up. Grant was awake for most of the day.

VNS

The VNS prof called in today to see Grant. Unfortunately I was not there, the carer was. The prof said that Grant looked great, better than he had been for a long time (great testimonial for the food we now give him eh) :)

I phoned the prof and she confirmed that the VNS will be increased a notch tomorrow.

SUMMARY

Grant is almost a cool dude :), but will only officially be one when he is back home ;)

Seeya.

Paul and Alison and Grant about to be crowned champ when he gets home :)

IMPORTANT PS

Grant's blood results came in today. His blood is all over the place. I will post the report in another post. Please have a read and comment as tomorrow the dietician wants to have a long talk, trying to get Grant back on full time Jevity, which he is highly allergic to because of the soy protein :(

That's great news! I'm so glad to hear it.

Sounds like the antibiotics kicked in and did their job.
Bless him,

FAN-TASTIC!! Great way to start my day!!

Told you -- stay strong ... your instincts about the feeding of your son are apparently spot on. Don't allow anyone to change to 'standard treatment' just because they don't know how to think outside the box yet. Maybe you need to be teaching them that there's more to health and nutrition besides what's inside the box ;)

Still holding you guys in my heart and in my prayers and in my thoughts. Can't wait to hear that there's kangaroo-counting happening in Grant's own bed again. BIG HUGS.

Great news Paul! Hoping you can make the dietician see the benefits of Grant's home-cooked diet - I do not have experience of the needs of someone like Grant but it seems like common sense to me, why put supplements etc in a formula when you can get the goodness/vitamins naturally from food? and it's clearly working for him - if it ain;t broke, why fix it?

Hugs and hoping your next post has HOME in it :D
