Update

I saw my new neuro yesterday and was informed that all my test came back negative ( MRI, EEG and allergy) I had the allergy done because when i was first diagnosed with TN i was put on tegretol and had a horrible skin reaction. They tested me on trileptal and everything went well.

so now i am being weened off my neurontin at 4 x 600 mg to Trileptal 4 x 300mg. and continuing the baclofen 3 x 10mg .I am waiting to start it this weekend to make sure i don't have major side effects.

My neuro did tell me that the side effects can be tiredness, dizziness, headache, blurred vision or double vision and my favorite Psychotic Depression.

I did experience the manic systems when i started the neurontin so i was wondering if it will be the same?

Has anyone out there ever experienced the psychotic part?

No psychosis on trileptal, unless you count the out-of-body state I went into when I paid for the first bottle. Side effects seem to be pretty individual but I tolerate it well, always have, even though the tegretol caused lots of trouble. I have never learned to tolerate the outrageous cost, I get a bad case of the winces every time I pull out the plastic and put it on the counter. (BTW, neither of the two pharmacies available to me will stock it - I was told by pharmacists here and in Canada that they didn't carry it because "it's too expensive". They order if I call several days ahead of needing it refilled.) Nancy
