Hi Ladies!!!
I have missed you guys so much!!!! I crawled into the woodwork and had a bit of a nervous breakdown after Sam's placement and have been slowly getting my life back in order, it's taken forever it seems but everyone is finally calming down and we have gotten back into the swing of things....
Micky I'm sitting staring at the pictures of your kiddos and I just can't believe my eyes, they have gotten SOOOOO big, Katie is Beautiful and Jake has filled out in the face and it such a HANDSOME young man!!! How is Megan doing??
Sam is 11 now and is still in residential care in the same facillity and he has acclimated to it there, they have him on a schedule which he thrives on and they have someone there who is with him, following him around during every second he is awake and the check on him every 15 minutes he is asleep. We get up there about once a month, the gas prices has really hurt us. He knows us when we are there but I think it is very much, out of sight out of mind. Which is good since we can't get up there as often as I would like. His behavior has not gotten any better it's gotten worse I think and he's gotten so big the past 2 years, and they are saying that we haven't seen nothing yet as he is on "the cusp of puberty" and it will likey get very ugly before it starts getting better. I just wish things could be diffrent!!
Twins are 8 years old, they have severe ADHD and are on medicine for it, NIGHT AND DAY diffrence when they are on it!! They start school this Friday and will be in the 2nd grade. They both were in Title 1 reading last year but I think Brice will be out of this year but poor Jacob is still way behind, he is on an IEP for expressive Speech and is in Speech therapy poor kid sounds like Elmer Fudd! :-) But he's comming along I think by 3rd grade he'll be sailing through...praying and hoping anyway!!!
I have Missed you guys so much and I have thought about everyone at DA and here all the time wondering how you were all doing and I kept saying I need to get back in touch but time just slipped by.
Can't wait to talk with everyone and see how all our kiddies are doing!!!!

It's good to see ya back!! I recently took a break from here as well, for other reasons, and am just back too.
Yep, my kids are getting big! Jake starts middle school Monday and Katie starts preschool. Jake actually loves school now. Katie won't actually GO to school until next year when she's 4, but they do home visits from 3-4. I don't like the home visit aspect and may not keep her in the program. I'm sick of people in my house and she will get no benefit from it. I work with her much more intensely than a preK teacher coming once a week will do, KWIM? She will THRIVE in a school setting with the other kids, she LOVES them, but I suppose it saves the school money to do it this way, I don't know. I only enrolled her because we have to have a psych eval on her to apply for CAP Waiver, and no doctor here will do one under the age of 6. It's a ridiculous circle. The school does one for preK so we will get it and probably pull her from the program.
Megan... ahhh.... Megan. What can I say? She's 17. She's married (no she's not pregnant, thank God). And that's about all I'll put out there in a public forum. LOL.
I'm still sewing. I have an online store now and am doing pretty well with it. (I made the outfit Katie is wearing in the pic :) )
I'm sorry to hear that it's been so hard on you after Sam was placed, I can't imagine how hard it was. You know we were considering having Megan placed somewhere at one point too, but didn't. {{{HUGS}}} I'm glad you found your way back! I bet the twins are a handful!! LOL
Well, gotta run... heading up to Norfolk to a neuro appt this morning.

Welcome back. To be honest, I'm drawing a blank on you, other than a few sporadic posts. I'm assuming you were a regular before I was? The real reason I am posting... there's a woman over on the Autism Forum in the midst of trying to get her son placed in a residential facility. If you have some time to post, I'm sure she'd appreciate some words of experience. http://brain.hastypastry.net/forums/showthread.php?t=35195

I'm pretty sure I don't 'know' you, Lisa - was a lurker before the crash as comp wouldn't let me register - but welcome back anyway :)
