When I made my appointment at Cleveland Clinic the appointment person asked if I wanted a specific doctor or first available appt. Since I didn't know any doctors, I said opted for first available appt. Well, today I called my insurance company to double check it'd be covered and the customer service rep (who was wonderful, nice surprise!) looked him up and said she didn't have a doctor by that name but did have a Physicians Assist. by that name. No one told me that when I made the appt.

Nothing against PAs, but this would be a 4 hour drive each way, hotel room, two vacation days from work, and probably my only shot at Cleveland Clinic. I want a doctor and a darn good one who specializes in TN! So, I cancelled my appt. and decided to reschedule at a later time after I do some research and find out what doctor is the best one to see. I don't care if I have to wait 6 months or more. If anyone hears or sees any good doctor there mentioned anywhere, let me know!

Hi Mary,

The Trigeminal Neuralgia Association might be able to help you with doctors in any given area. Worth emailing them to find out perhaps?

Good luck.

Take care,

Anne

Some of the very best care I have gotten has come from PA's. I would encourage everyone to checkout everyone's credentials no matter what their "rank" might be. Those PA's might surpise you.
