Sorry its me again....
But i need some advice...
My pain is still quite bad....some days i don't have to take anything for the pain but i know its still there...some days are horrible and i can hardly get out of bed...
I am so tired all the time and i just don't know what to do....
the last appointment i had with my doc, i didn't explain my pain very well and now he sorta just thinks i am wanting painkillers but its more than that...
and also i was trying to explain the pain in my back and then as i explained it i reiterated that we just found out that my upper back is twisted so he thought i was saying that i heard it was twisted and now i have pain there but i didn't mean it in that sense....
so now i am not sure where to go from here...
should i try again to talk to my doc and figure out things or should i go to a second opinion (even though a lot of docs that are accepting new patients aren't that good and thats why they don't have a lot of patients since there is a doc shortage here)
i may have fibromyalgia....since i have just about all those symptoms or my symptoms could just an irritable body....
i just don't know what to do....
but even if i get diagnosed with fibro i don't know what to do....
my muscles are sore....i try and exercise but its hard when your tired and sore....
and sure i could go to the pool and have good exercise but i don't want to step into a public pool (after hearing from what my sister said of how some pools make 'shortcuts' and such---icky----she was a lifeguard at a couple) , i might as well lick payphones....
anyway just wondering if someone had some good advice...
i have all ready done a lot with the natural route and diets and all that so i realize after all that that a medical doc is the lesser of the evils....
anyway just figured to see if anyone could steer me into some direction....
thanks for being here...
hope all are doin all right...

Hi,
I'm not sure that I can help you but wanted you to know you are not alone in what you are going through.
I have problems at all 3 levels of my spine and permanent S1 nerve damage but that doesn't nearly explain a lot of the symptoms I have the extreme severe fatigue , achy muscles and what not, my rheumy has been working with me for several years and bounces around with saying I have Lupus and then I don't but he does say I do have FM.
It has been a hard DX for me because before I ever went to him I asked my PM of many years if he thought I may have FM and frankly he doesn't believe in it, so what does one do.
Myself if I was you I would go back to the Dr you saw and go over it all again, myself I get tongue tied at the Dr's so I often will write it all out and even just give him the list to read then say read this then we will talk and tell him how I have a hard time explaining my pain and symptoms.
Rather then trying another Dr right away if that doesn't work then I would ask for a referral or look for another on my own.
I have seen so may Dr's in the past 10 years I couldn't count them all and even with all that I still often have a hard time putting it all to words.
Please let us know how it goes for you and know you are not alone in all this.
Good Luck,
Linda

Sorry you are having troubles. I would do as Linda said. and One thing that does help me is a Epsom salt bath. I will put 2-3 cups of salt in a tub of bath water. I get it as hot as I can that I can get in it. I will soak for 30-45 mins. But be careful cause it can make you light headed. I would feel some better after doing this. I hope that this helps

Stef, I don't really have anything idea that can help you but it does seem to me that you need your doctor to do a complete work up on you. I would hope the work up could give you some answers to what is the cause of your pain. It is tough to get a diagnosis as your pain seems to be intermittent. Good luck with your effort and if your current doctor can't helps see if he will refer you to another doctor.

Yeah i think i definitely need a talk with my doc and try and sort things out and just tell him that last time i didn't really describe the pain and such to him and see if i get somewhere from there....
I have had all my insides looked at...like with my uterus and bladder and stomach/intestines....but all of that doesn't explain the horrible upper back pain i have and the 'drag-your-butt-outta-bed' tiredness.....:eek:
so yeah i definitely need to do something about that since its not getting better and today just walking through my parents house checkin on things for them, just was painful and tiring.....and sure i am not the most healthiest 27 year old out there but i don't think that is normal.....
its weird since i don't really feel my lower back anymore and the pain in my upper spine feels worse and worse....
i am really wondering if i did get nerve damage from the break that happened in my spine....
i think i need to get really checked out there for sure.....(i am so bitter at those ER docs 12 years ago---they told me that i just had a bruised tailbone and really i broke 3 vertebrae in the middle of my back....rrrrrrr)
i wish i was as confident as i am now with things....
anyway i thank you for being here for me...sometimes its just so hard to deal with the pain but knowing i am not alone and that i don't sound too irrational is always good to hear...
(well at least i don't think i am irrational....:eek::p:D)
so thanks you guys for being here....going to make a docs appointment even though he probably won't see me till a months time but still at least i am trying to figure my body out....
i hope everyone is having a good day...
take it easy and take care
