Have not posted in a week wanted to see if things would calm down for me. Still can't use my left arm at all there was no pain in it, it was just dead feeling. Yesterdat layed down for about an hr and woke up with pain now in this arm. My right arn has been very painful since the 2nd of this month, enough to put me in tears every time I try to lay down sever muscel spasams from my neck down to my fingers.

My NL put me on the 25 mcg Fentanyl patch, I still take my vicoden every 4-6 hr's and take my soma every 4-6 hr's. He also put me on Tranxene.

I went last Tueasday for my EMG/NCV test which was not good at all, all the NL would tell me at the time was he could not find my radial nerve at all on the left side and he found it on the right side but it was very week. I will find out more tomorrow from my NS.

I am also going for yet another Myleogram tomorrow first then to my NS so keep you fingers crossed it will not cause the god awful spinal headache i got for days last time.

I was told by my local NL that it could be anywhere frome 1 to 3 years if i get any fuction back out of my left arm. I pray they are wrong.

DDC, I hope you don't get the headache with the myleogram. I have had a couple of them without headaches so just go home and stay off your feet and flat on your back for 24 hours. I would reschedule the NS appointment because going there afterwards is very likely to cause you a severe headache. I hope the neurologist gave you some idea of the cause of your dead arm besides just saying it would take 1 to 3 years to get the function back. I know if the cause is corrected you could have it return much quicker. I had lost the feeling, reflexes, and movement of my left leg prior to my thoracic fusion and have everything return immediately following surgery. I don't know what is causing your loss of function but I know it is possible [maybe not in your case] to regain it sooner than the time you were given.

hi guys I need your help with some thing, I got copies of my EMG/NCV test I had last week, not sure if my NS is just ignoreing the results or what. Do any of you know where I may post copies to get some opinions etc?

I did have my myelogram today and I have a large leasion on the C6-7 roots which totally explains the sever pain, spasam's and tingling on the right side. My NS now wants me to have another MRI again next Tuesday, he said he wants to take the old hardware (plate& screws) from C5-6 and fuse the C6-7 and maybe C7-8.
