Hello Everyone,
I am new to posting here, have been checking in every now and again for a couple of years now. My daughter is 3 years old with spastic quad CP from a stroke in utero at 12 weeks of gestation.
I am posting because she needs a new wheelchair and I am so confused on what to do. The company the school works with suggest the Kimba and is totally against the Kid Kart. We currently have a custom made one. The seating system was made by Becker Orthopedic and that put in a Crusier Wheelchair base. What is everyone else doing? I know I need to make a decision but its so hard to do. Would love to hear if there is something that has worked well for anyone. My aol email is shell2040@aol.com, feel free to email me there too.
I had just given up on deciding and was going with the Kimba, that was over three weeks ago and I just got a letter from the company for us to sign, so I am pissed that that is all that has been done in three weeks.
I havent loved her custom seat but am afraid we wont like the Kimba more than we havent liked the custom seat. On the other hand I am trying to tell myself to calm down, either decision will work, I just need to make one.
So, I am wondering, who goes with custom and who with chairs like the Kimba, which are totally adjustable (to a point). Any help on this would be greatly appreciated!
Shelley
