Well i am starting to sorta feel a bit better with the extra effexor but i have this nasty stomach bug and now i can't eat much at all...
i get them a lot since my stomach is so icky....well the meds i have for the GERD make it so then i get more bugs....so yeah....
haven't had one for a long while so i guess the bugs are making that time up...
since i have had this for 2-3 weeks and it just gets worse....
and i keep having my pelvic pain everyday but other than that i am feelin all right..:confused::rolleyes:
anyway just figured to see how all are doing...
i hope everyone is having a good day and if not i hope you find relief soon to have an all right day at least....since we definitely need more of those ...
take it easy and take care

Stef, sorry to hear you are fighting a bug and it has you feeling bad. I have finally kicked my stomach problems [bug?] after several days of misery. I had a good day today and hope to have a good weekend. I hope you kick the bug soon.

Stef, I hope your bug is over soon! I also get frequent tummy bugs, I never thought it was due to the GERD meds?

I am hanging in, just a bit of a headache and the rest of the crap daily.

Thanks for asking, Kathy

Thank you...
Yeah I found found out that with the GERD meds because they cause low acid, which is good for us GERD-ers, but bad in that normal stomach bugs that usually just die from the acid with normal people...well with us they don't so we can get lots of stomach bugs....
so if you find you have stomach bugs it could be from that...
i am tuckered out tonight...
hope all are doing well...
take care and take it easy...

Stef,

I was taking a PPI for GERD and Gastritis since 2005 but recently was able to stop. I wanted to ask though...have you tried adding back in a probiotic? I had a month long tummy bug or something back in February and it was something the Gastro doc had me do; to take a probiotic and it DID help along with a different PPI. I had to eat the BRAT diet for almost a whole month! Anyway, just a thought because it adds back the "good" guys (bacteria) and did help with the nausea. I hope you get to feeling better. :)

yeah i have been down every road possible with my stomach....
9 years and counting.....
i have been thoroughly tested at least once and also tried every diet i could (since some diets i can't do since i have lots of food intolerances)
and probiotics are good to a point....some make me more nauseous and some...
well lets just say i get tied down to the toilet...
but thanks for the tip though...
keep em coming....i am sure there is something out there that i haven't heard of or haven't tried...
i hope all are doing good today...
had my nice lunch/dinner of frosted flakes....
they are really good when you can't eat anything else....
sending hugs n healing thoughts to all...

sorry i might have sounded cranky....
i am just going crazy in my mind with the depression, the inability to eat and my bladder being all screwed up again....:eek:
so sorry about that....
its just hard some days ya know??
i feel like my life is passing me by and yet i am stuck inside letting it just pass by....and yesterday was a bad day and we went out and i tried to enjoy it but i couldn't since i need to go to the bathroom every 5 minutes and i was so nauseous and yeah.....just couldn't enjoy the nice drive....
and i thought i had everything sorta figured out and just yesterday really bummed me out....:(
so sorry i sounded cranky....
i kinda was....
well i hope people are having a good day today...
we need those for sure....;)

Stef, just a thought but have you had your gallbladder checked? The reason I ask is you sound a lot like me prior to mine being removed. I sure hope you feel much better soon!

Yeah i got the gallbladder checked a few times in the past....and all the docs said that my gallbladder was fine...
back when i started all these testing procedure a few years ago, i got checked out by a GI doc and i told him that i had stomach pains and he told me to get the gallbladder out right then....but when i had a laparoscopy done a year or so later the doc checked my gallbladder too and he said it was real healthy
and before that procedure was done they did a pre-op ultrasound on everything around there just to sorta know where things were and it had no stones...
so i dunno why i have such a bad stomach....
its so strange and doesn't act right at all....hates a lot of drugs out there and yeah i dunno, it gets real cranky at me....
if i put all my safe foods down on a piece of paper, it would hardly fit one of those post-it notes (so i cheat A LOT---could be my problem but frankly i could not live on rice and spinach or something like that...)
i would love to have a show where the best chefs in the world try and cook for me i would find that so so funny
now i think that would be a challenge....:p
so yeah i have a cranky stomach and no real reason for it....I have acid reflux and also reflux foods, water, bile, acid---you name it, i have refluxed it...
and i have figured out that my esophagus is moving too fast and my stomach too slow and my intestines are on their own schedule....
so yeah that just adds up to be one dysfunctional system
one thing that is new to me is that sometimes my feet feel like they swollen (like if i was on a long flight type thing) but they don't seem swollen but it feels like it is....
weird hey??
nothing surprises me anymore with my body....it is so weird....even when my docs talk to me about it, they call it abnormal..
anyway....thats the sorta history of my stomach....
i hope all are doing well today....
need more of the good days for sure....;):p:rolleyes:
take care

WARNING - DISGUSTINGLY GRAPHIC

Stef,
I'm also on Effexor. A couple of years ago (while in the hosp), I had a bit of diarrhea and noticed some very tiny white balls in it. Well, they puzzled me so I started looking at all the meds I was taking and unscrewed the Effexor and sure enough, what did I see? Tiny white balls. I naturally assumed that the med wasn't being broken down. It sure explained how lousy I was feeling, mentally. I told the doc this and he gave me something for the runs and, voila, No more feeling like crap. So, before you up the Effexor (I'm not sure you were thinking of doing this), talk to the doc about the diarrhea

Pain free days,
Pete

PS Good thing for spell check because I sure as heck don't know how to spell diarrhea. LOL.
