Went to NS today, he told me I have Radial Nerve Palsey (drop wrist) in my left arm now. H e has ordered a EMG & Nerve Conduction test on th 22nd then oedered another Myelogram for my Cervical area. H is also putting me on a steroid pack for a week. Once he finds out what caused rhe radial nerve palsey injury then he will get back on for the neck fusions to fix the cord conpressions and radculopathy. Has anyone here had radial nerve palsey before? if so how long does it last?

Donna, sorry to hear about this new problem. I hope the steroid pack helps out and the test the NS is ordering gives you answers to the cause of your problem. It isn't much fun going through all the test but at least you should have an answer about what is causing the palsey injury.

hi & ty mark, saw my NL today and he took me off the soma & put me on something called Tranxene 3.75 mg 3 x's a day, he said it would help better with the muscel cramping. We also just about figurered out what caused the palsey, I had my heating pad cranked on the highest setting and had it drapped over a stiff pillow and had it placed under my under arm area's leaning on my chest area which my NL said the heat alone can damage a radial nerve plus i was putting preasure on the nerve while leaning on it.

I did not know this could happen, now I have to do the EMG & conduction test to see how bad the damage is. He said ut might be months before I can use my arm again.
