Hi all,

I have been taking pain meds (morphine) for over 8 years, and I'm convinced that my testosterone levels are far too low. I've had my GP test my levels, and while they are very low, they are just inside the acceptable level (and I do mean "just"). Only once were the levels actually too low, but they have to be low on consecutive tests in order to qualify for testosterone therapies.

My main concerns are these: not only are my testicles shrinking, I'm convinced that they're "ascending" into my groin. This causes me some considerable discomfort, not to mention it worries the hell out of me.

If anyone has had similar experience of this problem, I'd be grateful for your input. Also, does anyone know of any natural sources of testosterone?

Regards,
Mark M

it's certainly not just in your head. i would consider finding another doctor.

and don't be duped by natural remedies to raise test. unless you're just really deficient in something like zinc or copper or E, etc., nothing works. there are some natural aromatase inhibitors, but probably not much use if your problem isn't high estrogen. other compounds may affect dopamine or blood flow, but not test.

your doc should know this is a side effect of your medication. do a pubmed search for "morphine hypogonadism" or "opiates hypogonadism"

Keep in mind too that the treatments for Low T eventually cause testicle shrinkage as they tell your testicles you are producing plenty without their help, less work, they shrink..
