And in a nice way. :)

This whole kitchen remodeling and pool installation has become a comedy. :) Yes, I am stressed but it is a fun and exciting stress. But here's the thing...I have been in "wait mode" for a few weeks now and NOW it is all hitting or coming together.

Work on the kitchen starts Monday or Tuesday...not positive yet...waiting on a call. So, that guy wanted the new cabinets delivered this coming Monday so that while he is busting them out he can put in the new ones. Before he does though...the electrical is being changed up. Okay, no problem. But I do have to have one side of the garage clear and it is. The other side has all the pool stuff in it (they already delivered that). Plus, my stepfather's son wants my old cabinets so they will have to go on the screened in porch until he can pick them up.:)

Prior to all this we have a handyman contractor that was going to do some minor work on the outside of the house. Well, he was supposed to come last week but couldn't work outside due to the rains which put him behind on other jobs. So, when does he want to come out? You got it! On Monday LOL!

THEN...we need a huge tree limb removed from a Walnut tree otherwise there will be Walnuts plopping into the pool. BUT pinning down a tree service for a precise date and time was like pulling teeth. And I DO understand because of the storm damage last month they are all working like dogs. But people, PLEASE just give me a day and time. So, finally, I found one. He gave me a good estimate and it is fair and way below what we thought it would be. But when does he want to come out? Of course, on Monday! :D I begged that he come out on Tuesday instead but they won't be in this area then.

Sooo...I think I will be outside just directing traffic on Monday.:)

Then, just now, the unthinkable happened. Watson's called and wanted to install the pool...when? ON MONDAY!!! OMG! I lost it. I got off the phone and just laughed my head off. But I did tell them to PLEASE put it off for one more week because I have to order sand in the meantime. And I can't have a huge pile while all these guys are working on Monday. Oh, well, this is how I see it. I have been waiting all this time and figured this might collide and it has so now they will just have to wait on me...just one more week! But they were cool and set the pool install for the following week.

And the killer part of all this is...hubby will be traveling for the next 3 weeks and darn it...I need an RF! :)

Anyway, I have most everything cleared out of the kitchen and family room because they have to paint everything when done. So, that's not a big deal other than my house looks like a disaster area.

Okay, rant off...I think I am so concerned about all of this coming together that all I could do was to sit and laugh. :) Seriously, though, when it all finally comes together I think it will be very, very nice...it is just in the getting there.

Kathi, it sounds like a comedy of errors, LOL Not yours, but your universe during all the construction etc. There must be something about that Monday.

After this is finished you can call yourself a General Contractor! You are basically doing the same thing only on a smaller scale:D

Just think how beautiful it will all be!;)

Kathi, sometimes you just have to laugh and you had every reason to with all that is going on. You certainly have a lot going on at one time with your DH s gone. I hope your family can help out so you don't get wiped out from doing too much.

Thanks Kathy and Mark,

LOL! I know it...I was thinking what is it about this coming Monday. :) Anyway, you would have laughed today. I went to get outlets, switchplates, whatever. I had it all written down but did not get the dimmer switches my husband wants because I want the electrician to tell me what I really need. I know that sounds dumb but my husband was interested in a particular one. Anyway, I went to Lowe's to get these and these two guys were behind me; construction workers I think and they were cracking up! And all because I said to the cashier...I really don't know what I am doing although I THINK I do! :D

Mark,

Don't worry; I have already asked my stepfather to come over and hold my hand should I need it. :) I don't think I will get wiped out. However, I might not KNOW something that he would...just in case there is a glitch but I am not anticipating any at this point. And DH just got home from work...says he is very excited about getting this all done and really thanked me because he just doesn't have the time to coordinate everything. But it should all be okay...I hope. :) Oh, and once the cabinets are in there is another two week wait for the countertops. So, we will just be toughing it out. That's no biggie either since I have some things set up and there is always the grill outside. :)

Kathy wow so much going on. It is nice to be able to laugh rather than cry about it.

Just think, in about another month, month and a half you will be able to sit back and enjoy the beautiful fruits of your labor. Yes you worked hard too!
