O/T but an update on my hand

I got the results of my nerve testing at that neurologist's appointment a few weeks ago...I thought I had updated you guys, but I just wanna make sure...

The verdict is that I DO INDEED have carpal tunnel in the right hand - for sure. I'm going in to see an ortho on the 17th. I suspect I have it in my left hand as well, but the only hand tested was my right since that's giving me the most trouble so far...although the left seems to be catching up.

Not as much pain lately as I'm trying to cut down on typing a whole lot, at least til I find out what's going on....I DON'T like the idea of having a needle in my hand (steroid shot), so I'm really hoping he'll just do the surgery for me...brace seems to be helping somewhat...we will see I guess...

IF I DO end up with surgery, I'll keep you guys posted...I should be able to type with at least ONE hand, otherwise I'll give LIZ a call... :) But that's not for a couple weeks yet, so in the meantime.....I AM HERE!! =)

Well, I hope you don't need surgery, but at least it can be treated. I know what you mean about getting the shots. I have plantar faciitis, and I have put off the idea of the cortizone shot because I know from what others have said that it's excruciating, but it also works. Getting the weight off has helped me a lot, but all that walking and standing I did at the conference made me wanna chop the thing off! :eek: :(
