Hi ~ I'm new to this site, but wanted to add a few words.

As MANY women have done, in the past I was not very good about having a mammogram every year. In fact, when I had one in January it had been 5 years since my last one and I was 58 yrs old!! When I got the results, I was told I needed to have a biopsy!!! Needless to say, I was shocked and a bit afraid.

The biopsy showed that I had to have a lumpectomy and I had it done that same week. What is so miraculous is that I was at Stage 0!!! I didn't even know that there WAS a Stage 0. After having gone all those years without having a mammogram, and ending up with Stage 0 breast cancer ~ someone was watching over me. But if I'd waited any longer, Lord knows what could have happened.

Yearly mammograms are an absolute MUST for women! There is NO history of breast cancer in my family but it has to start somewhere. Ladies, take care of yourselves because no one else will! God bless. Hugs, Lee

Yearly mammograms are an absolute MUST for women! That is a popularly held view and would surely be seconded by those in the Mammography Industry. I would prefer you make a more thorough investigation of the subject and post more scientifically valid views, but that is your choice.

Right now the radiological examination of pubic hairs is too expensive for a screening test and needs further validation but I sure look forward to the day when all those women who line up for mammograms will instead be handed a plastic bag containing a sterile hairbrush. Although experimental right now, it beats mammography! And far less painful!!
