hi, I recently had a scary trip to er for my husband, he called me in the middle of the night because he felt like he was going to pass out, i found him on the floor slurring his words and losing consciousness when he came to he said he really needed to use the bathroom, but the 911 dispatcher told me not to let him till the paramedics got there, he then had diarrhea, and we had to take him to hospital because hearrt rate and blood pressure was low, the only earlier symtom he has ever had is every once in a while he just cant hold it when he has to have a bowel movement, does this sound like dumping syndrome? thanks

and I sure have had a zillion cramps in my life as a result.
(Malrotation grade II).
A severe cramp lowers blood pressure and can cause fainting.
I've had that happen.
If your husband is on medications, to lower blood pressure, then the drop
is bigger for him.
But what you need to find out is-- What caused this cramp?
If it is a blockage, infection whatever, that needs to be taken care of.
I know it is scary. I fainted in a public bathroom, when I had a stomach flu, and the doctor then explained the reflex to me.
Also he should be checked for cauda equina. This is spinal stenosis, and can cause incontinence too.

My question is what did the hospital say when he was there?
There are many different reasons for the diarrhea! Some Mrs D has already stated, did they check if he had a stroke?
I would be more concerned with the reason WHY he passed out?

that sounds scary, seems like there should be follow up testing to at least figure out what's behind the losing consciousness and slurred speech.
