i just posted this in Forum Feedback > Greetings!
thanks john for all your doing and have done in the past.
when everything is up and running again can we open a thread so we can talk to you about moderators and bannings. so many people are scared to make posts on this matter in fear of being banned.
so please when you can lets all talk on this.
thanks john

I know the moderators have a tough job to do..I certainly do not envy their position...
I too understand this is John Lesters creation and we are essentially guests in his home..therefore we must follow the rules he sets if we wish to participate here.. we do not "pay" to use this site it is a free service..donations are merely that donations..not membership fees..
However stating that I feel that not discussing this issue can lead to more tension..people walking on eggshells...afraid of being banned and crossing an imaginary line in the sand..
It is hard not to cross lines...politics and medicine are interwined whether we like it or not..
Passionate people..tend to type words in haste..it has been over a year since I have posted on a regular basis..
But, I do believe that this site...is a good site..with alot of caring people with a wealth of experiences to share..
The rules...are fair..politics inflame..charlatans exist. people losing their tempers and name-calling is not acceptable behavior.. .but in a world where there is so litlle medicine has to offer to ALs..Utopia does not exist...and these matters will take the forefront of our minds at times..
Banning a person with ALS even for a few months can literally equal the death penalty..people die in a few months all the time here...so it is my hope but certainly not my demand that the lifespan of a PALS is considered with the degree of punishment for infractions upon the rule...that it is also considered that ALS silences...and too many PALS communties like this are the only place their voices can be heard...
I am not stating that PALS should have free reign to break any rules they wish..but I do "hope" the above can at least be considered..
Again I am only a guest..this site is not about me or my husband..nor should it be..my voice is just one and it is simply an opinion..
I've never been banned..but maybe I should have been..as I know I have crossed the line at times.. for me I have to walk away at times. as well..to not type something I know I'm going to regret..
Braintalk will survive no matter what..I truly believe that...as there are alot of good people here..JL must have done alot of things right to have the type of success he had with the site..I too know he is a very caring and compassionate person..Lisag

An administrator now has a thread going on a very similar topic to this discussing community moderation..the rules, bannings and infractions..
...I've asked a question over there..and I know a few of you may have many more..If you want your input, questions and opinions heard ...forum feedback might be a very good place to consider visiting soon...Lisa
