View Full Version : The Moon influence - Full Moon - New Moon

this message is a copy of what i just wrote on the thread "Waves" on the "Epilepsy Forum"

i sincerely hope that nobody will take offence at anything in my message… this is not my intention to hurt anyone or their beliefs here... i just want to express some of my experience, my observations, my beliefs...

it has become obvious to me from surfing other forums these last few days... as well as from close observation of myself and other people around me... that the full moon has really influenced more people than you could think of over the last weekend… full moon was at its peak on monday night/tuesday morning… and normally, its powerful influence can be perceived by the most sensitive ones up to 7 days before… this is fortunately or unfortunately my case… the worst ones being the 3 days preceding its peak… therefore, affecting particularly last weekend…

the full moon doesn’t only influence tides… waves… births… werewolves… it does influence all living beings containing water… the body of the average **** sapiens contains approximately 70%... so, nobody can say that they’re not influenced by the full moon… even those who are not aware of it… are under the pressure of the full moon’s influence… which varies from one to another, of course… i am not the only one to believe this, and also that we all have a werewolf within, only awaiting the full moon’s influence to unleash…

hopefully, these few words will help clarify what has been going on over the weekend, and definitely not only on BT forums... and will help the harmony to come back after the full moon influence allows tides to settle… may also all scars heal well with a bit of sea salt on them…

i think it would be interesting to do some more research on the moon and its side effects and start a thread… maybe on The Lighter Side forum… so not only serious (scientific, medical, psychological…) but also information of lighter nature would definitely be more than welcome… like werewolves and witches stories… what do you think ??? the new moon also has a powerful effect, however, in a different way… we'll see in 2 weeks...

i’ll take a note on my diary for after moving to bring my own input, because I find this subject verrry interrresting, and i ‘m sure i’m not the only one… i think that i’ll start the new thread right now, with a copy of this message… so you all can work and play with it while I finish my packing... i’ll keep an eye out !!!

May ALL of you ENJOY the JOURNEY we’re ALL SHARING on planet EARTH which is, with ALL its INHABITANTS, under the INFLUENCE of the MOON !!!

Lavandula...being a 'complicated migraine' type sufferer since the age of 19, I'll agree with the 'full moon' theory!

At the beginning of these headache cycles, I know like most people, you try and put a pattern, so you can STOP the pain!

I started to notice when the moon was getting LARGE my head would start to hurt. By the time the moon was full I was in agony. Heaven help me if I had my menstrual cycle happening at the same time! I thought I was nutty. My husband started to tease me that I was going to start howling at the moon! I would have gladly done that, if I could have stood up long enough.

Fall was the worst time for me because of the harvest moon....EEE GADS!

The moon is not the only factor for me. Low pressure systems is also a major problem. Big snow storms like noreasters or hurricanes. YUK!

Happily after some 25 years of pain, I was put on 'topamax'. I tried all the other 1 pill wonders, and they never helped. It took some months for relief. I know for some people they do not like the issues that go with this drug. For me it was like a miracle. :) 50 mg morning. 100 evening. I have 'ultracett' for breakthrough headache. Not too many, though.

Happy moving! :)

ps....are you a good witch or a bad witch? ;) :)

i'll visit The Pity Party Room... (no bad luck or accident however) and What's happening... and What are the little things that make you happy... hopefully before my internet connection gets cut/transferred... :D:o:);):p:):o:D

here is a link to Netlingo that someone from BT was nice enough to give me on e-mail/chat shorthand... they were invented long before the smilies... you'll be impressed at the long list of good...:) and bad expressions...

Moving is enough to tucker anyone out...especially someone who has medical issues.

I hope you can rest up a bit. :) Thanks for the great link. Now I just have to figure out how to save it to my computer and use it!

Your a good kid....just a quote from a favorite cartoon when I was a child! ;)

Catherine,
if you want to put an icon on your desktop, i can tell you how to do it with windows xp (if you have an older computer, this might have to be done slightly differently) :)

open the page, right clic with your mouse, chose the option to create an icon on your desktop from the little menu box... it will appear automatically on your desktop... if you want the icon on your bottom task bar, then just drag it with the mouse... i find it is very handy to have it on my taskbar... good luck ! ;)

Catherine,

*ack 98% of my stuff is filling literally 98% of the new appart... needless to say that i will have to do what i've been repeating myself over the last 2 years... :o give away 25% of my stuff to Salvation Army/St-Vincent-de-Paul (charity thrift stores) like office work clothes that i will never wear again... because full permanent disability has been officially confirmed 2 years ago (although i've been totally disabled for 8 years... after 6 years of struggling with ss and the insurance co. for part time pension, because i was only working 4 days/week during the last year)

catherine...

you can put the link in your "favorites" list. you can do this with ANY website page or article you want to save. when you get too many of them, you'll have to learn how to make folders, but i can teach you that, too.

anyways,....there is a gold star at the top left of your computer screen. that is your "favorites" list of already collected websites. to add the website for the "lingo" that lavan gave, right next, to the right, of that gold star is a green plus sign over a little gold star, or something similar to that. when you are at the website you want t o save, left click on that plus and star icon. you will get a drop-down box which will say "add to favorites". click on that. the pc will automatically add that url (link begining with http://) to your favorites list. then the next time you want to go to that website, just go to your favorites list and it will be there.

Hey! Let's see. I had to down load the file. I used to have a favorites right on my desk top, but hubby moved and changed things differently than DD had. So I am still trying to figure how to use it at the same time as when I am typing.

I'm a thinkin and tryin!

Lavandula....I would be happy that you were receiving benefits if you are unable to work. :(

I was on disability from age 19 to 21 when benefits ran out and that was that. I was unable to return to work to built up benefits again. I am not able to collect under my husband, because he makes too much money. (sorry..not bragging..just enough)

Thank goodness he was able to provide. It is a daunting task to downsize. I was never a 'pack rat'....had to hide the garbage from my kids, ;) and still found that there were things to be rid of. Happy memories in so many items, yet sometimes things have to go.

Catherine,

Jeannie's tip is very good too... you can open a tab and switch back and forth from one page (netlingo) to the other (BT) by a clic on it...

if you don't have the star and + task bar, see the one with File, Edit, Show, Favorites, Tools, ? (and if you don't see either one... ask your DH to bring it back, as they're just hidden)

yesterday was New Moon... much more passive/thinking/emotional time for me... :o

i know i'll be much more into the "get rid of stuff... energy" as i'm more active and spontaneous... starting one week prior to Full Moon... which is Wed. June 18... *ack so it will fall just in the right time so that i can get somewhat a little bit more functionnal... by the end of the month :D

i'm a curious and creative monkey as well as a packrat... i see something in every little piece of wood, fabric, plastic, paper... as you have seen in the new thread called The THREAD and NEEDLE thread... here is the link for the other ones who may be interested in awakening or boosting their creativity: http://brain.hastypastry.net/forums/showthread.php?t=33232

As for the full moon, just ask any EMT or the police and they will tell you that during the full moon they are busier during that time.

Christina,

i use windows xp w sp2, media center edition (french) and when i was still working, we had both french and english, windows 98, then 2000 or millenium, with ms office professionnal suite 98... so, i bought the profess. suite 2007 as i use to master it all (the 98) on the tip of my fingers... (quite a drastic makeover... for my little head...)

you don't have to feel stupid because you didn't know what was the star and + for... i didn't either... i always clic on the word Favorites on the menu bar starting with File... that's why 'sharing' our tips is so wonderful, because we learn from one another... :D

Hi!

I have windows xp....is that what you need to know? I will let the old hubby fix up my favorites. I keep him away because he thinks he is Wil-E-Coyote Super Genius....Too funny! He will be all proud of himself. I just hate to see the satisfaction on his face....:p 31 years of marriage...I still my issues with the man! :D

It's a dependency issue. ;)

I'll be back.

Catherine
ps Lavandula....i used to be a prisoner of the moon....planning any event way BEFORE or AFTER. Really horrid.

geez, lavan....

i just finished reading that netlingo site and have a headache :D!

so many of them, i think probably the peple and teenagers that text message a lot would know most of them, but for my litle chats here and there, it's faster for me to type out stuff..plus the person you are chatting with would have to know the same acronyms. but, it was fun reading and i think i will pick out a few to use :D.

yeah, catherine, you need a toolbar at the top of your page. google has one, msn.com has one, i think. then once you get that, you will see the gold star and the + over the star to add favorites.

*bunch jeannie

Lavandula Canadensis
06-04-2008, 05:35 PM
catherine, i also downloaded windows live and yahoo toolbars... but each of them takes 1/2 inch room on the top of my screen... but with View on the menu bar, you can chose to show or hide all the toolbars you have downloaded... :D

it took me years to figure out why i had such ups and downs every month... thought it was pms... now post-menopaused for a few years... cannot anymore blame that... i feel its influence even without looking at the calendar... *ack

i would have preferred to move on the week preceeding the Full Moon, energy-wise... but i'll have its energy for settling in... so, i'm not really loosing anything... :p

jeannie, i agree with you that netlingo shorthand can drive someone crazy... i'm new at forums and chatting... before, i would insist that people e-mailing me use the real words, otherwise i was asking for a translation right away before even reading the msg as soon as i would see a single abbreviation... :(

cath,

here is a site from google that you can download their toolbar. i like it cause you can google anything right in the toolbar without going to the google site.

http://toolbar.google.com/T4/index_pack_xp.html

your hubby should be able to do this :).

Lavandula Canadensis

jeannie, that's right... it's easier and faster... i like them too... that's why i downloaded 3 of them... because they also will give you different search results...

on each of them, you can chose a different assortment of icons to garnish your tool bar... like quotes from different people (Einstein, Thoreau, Lao Tzu...), National Geographic photo of the day, Wikipedia, a multifunctions dictionnary...

yesterday afternoon and evening i shopped around for perrenials and shrubs for my backyard... check my today's post in the thread What are the little things that make you happy? for the species i bought... some more shopping to do this week for some perennial and annual flowers and little things for the appart. :D

i have hardly slept a few hours in the last 3 days... can't find my monthly wall calendar... but i wrote the full moon and the new moons in my diary... let's check it out... ah! ah! full moon coming on the 17 at night/on the 18 in the morning !!!

after big moving... not much sleep in the last 2 weeks... i NEED to SLEEP !!! *ack fortunately, my cheap zero gravity recliner with a single bed memory foam top folded in 2 is quite comfi... that helps... :p

maybe if i listen to the Moonlight Sonata (1st movmt), it'll put me to sleep... it's magical and mystical... of great inspiration !!! this version is absolutely sweet, soft and delicious !!! i think i'll listen to all versions available on YouTube... until i fall asleep...

i could see a bit of sunset... from my balcony in my bedroom... if i don't sleep, i might see the moonlight... that's exciting... to have a totally different view at my new appart...

Good night to the room... on earth and on the moon !!!

i was there but not quite ALL there lately... i can really observe that the energy of the full moon is making me hyperactive for the week prior to it, then, after, i'm knocked down for a week...

one can observe the moon cycles on this website... it shows the eastern standard time for me, which is my time... i hope it will adjust to your own time when you open it...
