This is really good, and thought provoking.

I certainly agree that ADHD is overmedicated. That has been my experience
in our own home. I found nutritional supports that totally reversed it.

My son will be 27 next month. He has grown into a successful professional man,
with interests, and who is compassionate and helps others (He runs an IT help
desk among other duties). When I look back on what we have all been thru,
and how things have turned out... it is quite an education! I am very proud of him, and also feel that our experience was important to share.

Thanks for putting this link up. I am going to put it up on another venue.
Spread the word!

Hey Mrs. D

This video really gave me a kick in the rear.

Both my kids are in medication, well where until today.
Joshua was put in adderall, and yes it has made a great deal of difference on him, he was always on the floor in the classroom because his fidgeting was so bad, he would fall and land there. It is like resstless legs, they just kept on going. however, I never gave it to him on the weekends because I really believe he needs relief.

One thing it bothers me, like now they are saying kids should have their hearts tested before been put on this drugs, well he wasn't offcourse, but no real effort from the doctors to call and say, let's check blood preasure, keep track of things and such, nothing. He wasn't checked for those things prior to be put on this medication either, just really bothers me of that.

Rachel is in medication for her aggressive behabior, this medication is quite dangerous, but then again, her blood preasure was not checked, and she is not been checked regularly. The psychologys that she has been refered is yet to contact us with an appointment, what they care right?

The medication did helped my daughter, but also made her quite droopy after about a week, so my choice is do I see my daughters entusiasm and stranghts dissapear with this too?

I decided I will be doing some serius diet modification.
First thing is dairy is not coming back into the house after our current stock, my husband will buck at this but the way I see it, there is the door, he don't have to live with it, but we not gonna live with the dairy, I know Rachel has shown strong signs of allergies to it in the past. We have reduced dairy in the house quite a bit lately, and I seen improvement.

Another thing is candy, it will not walk in the house ever again, and the school will just have to make a way to deal with it, as I do not want her to have any of it at school as well as dairy.

I would like to ask if you know of any good websites that have good aid on diet modification for ADHD, I need all the help I can get.

Thanks much :) and do spread it about, I think it is time people are aware and speak out about such things. One thing I remember when I brought my concerns about Joshua maybe having ADHD both with his regular doctor and the evaluation he received at the CDRC in Portland *Child Developmental and rehabilitation center*, that is where everyone in the area goes for a through exam on kids suspected to be in the spectrum, they both said, that he was too young to dx and that once he was in school, the teachers would let me know if there was any issues, never mind about me been his mom and noticing things, they believe the teachers best, geesh,, anyways, don't need to get started on that. I just hope I do not encounter any issues if the school finds out I taken both my kids off medication.

matika and mrs d,
As of right now, we have decided that medication will be the last resource and our pediatrician (as well as family and friends) all agree.

The school on the other hand, as "quietly" as they can keep pushing it. We requested an IEP and have since had him classified, in special ed with a dedicated aid.
He is sooo much happier, even talks about school now and how he loves his class.

My question to you, I've been told that medication is also a "trial and error" basis. That if we decide to take the medication route - that it's possible we may have to try different ones until we find the one that works for him.

Is that true? I've heard horror stories from some Mothers, well one mother told me she caught her 7 year old son climbing out the window to jump, he said he was so unhappy and didn't want to live anymore.

Just knowing that, I would rather do a "trial and error" with supplements and any other kind of alternative than medication.

P.S. - Was Vincent Booth ever released to his mother? I can't find anything.
