I have taken MSContin since November 1999 … with a lifetime of IBS where 4-6 trips to the bathroom every morning was normal I never could have believed this would ever change but morphine sure did cause me a lot of trouble … passing bricks became normal and messed my days up when going to the bathroom became an hours long ordeal.
When you can find something that actually gives you the urge and doing so is painful or difficult lubricate the poop chute with a mineral oil enema … I cannot stress the effectiveness of this practice.
If you have the time use the enema without voiding for a few hours, be sure to protect your chair, bed and do not leave home without voiding …
If you cannot find a mineral oil enema, buy the regular disposable enemas and a bottle of mineral oil, empty the regular enema bottle and refill with your own oil … they are difficult for me to find.
Do not use the mineral oil in a rubber reusable enema bottle as it will ruin it.
I wish I would have been given this advice years before I found out how effective they can be.
Mineral oil can be taken orally and if you choose to do so I would strongly advise that you keep a separate oil bottle for ingestion another for enema bottles for obvious reasons.
Now that I know how to deal with the difficult times I do not have many problems due to tolerance from taking the same dose of MSContin for so long.
