I enjoy calligraphy. Here's one of them.

beautiful, sandy!

are you self-taught? do you sell any of your calligraphy?

i have great admiration for anybody who has artistic talent. you have to work hard at it and you also have to have a natural gift for it.

do what you love, cause you usually do that the best!

I'm mostly self taught-- though I did take a class in engraving, but that was after I was already doing calligraphy. It just helped. I've sold some, but not a lot. People would rather save money and use computers, I suppose.

I work in a pre-school and each year I've been filling in the students' names on their "graduation diplomas." That's fun-- and I do it on staff days or during naptime, so indirectly I'm getting paid for it. I did it for my dd's classroom when she was in Head Start about 12 years ago too. :) One year I made up all my Christmas cards by hand and personalized them using calligraphy so one of the cards may have said something like "For God so loved Jennifer that He gave His only begotten Son." I started them in July that year and did about 2 cards a week so as not to get burned out.

Stuff like that is fun to do.
