A few months ago, I experienced what to me seemed to be an encounter with God. It was during a period when I was extremely stressed and became (VERY) manic. (To the point where I was in the emergency room because I was so out of it). I don't mean that anything supernatural occurred, but during that manicity, I had a spiritual experience.

I was still a bit (hypo)manic when I wrote this down. Hypergraphic too. So it might be a bit choppy. I wrote it, though, because I didn't want to forget the message that I got during the experience.

Reaffirming Words to Remember

Reaffirm & Reaffirmation
Really
Finally
Reciprocal/Reciprocate
Affirmation

Encouragement (remember that it’s reciprocal)
Peace

Things I need to remember:
REALLY believe in God! He’s really there. He really exists. REALIZE that!
The lyrics to the song “Amazing Grace.”
You REALLY ARE an OK person
Live by the Spirit and not the law.

God understands and you don’t have to explain your feelings and actions to Him.
God is omniscient. He gets it..
“I am that I am!” (quote from the Bible/Exodus)

Quit ‘thinking about thinking about thinking about…..’

God reaffirm me.

Your PDL (Purpose Driven Life) gift is “Teaching”
You have the education and the degree, so USE it.

God is there to reaffirm you. HE GETS IT, GIRL!!

You don’t need people to real-ize (make real) the reaffirmation that you so crave. GOD can reaffirm you. And He will.

I FINALLY have enough confidence that I can do the reaffirming myself.

You can now feel PEACE from within. (And that’s a good feeling).

Eventually you will “get it,” but it will be little by little as you’re able to handle it. God knows when you‘re beginning to “get” it more and more now.

He knows when you’re able to handle it and will give it to you one piece at a time. (Little by little).

“The Lord is with you.”
(Philippians 4:5b-- "Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near.")

You’re not a weakling who can’t take care of herself.

Remember that too much "thinking" brings you back into the trap of (socially and emotionally) not being a part of the church family. And they REALLY ARE THERE FOR YOU.

Remember to laugh.

Remember to reassure yourself that you’re NOT a stupid person who needs to depend on other people to get her through life.

Remember that it’s OK to ask people for help when you really need it!

Remember though, that it’s not ok to use your friends as things/as tools to get you from point “A” to point “B”.

There really ARE friends in your life who want to help you out but don’t know what they can do-- and that makes them feel helpless (sad face).

You’re CAPABLE girl, and please know that you CAN do things through Christ who gives you strength. (Philippians 4:13)

You’re NOT “Hopeless & Helpless.” God is with you, and you’ll know that He is with you—especially when you’re feeling dependent again.

If you ever get super (“hyper”) manic again, remember Philippians 4:5 and Philippians 4:13.

“I AM (REALLY AM) real—and it’s OK with me when you start having doubts. It’s OK.
*BUT, (and here’s the important part, kiddo), also know that there really ARE times when you need a helping hand—and that’s OK!
Know, (REALize), that others are not blind and can see that something’s not right.

Remember the “I’m OK, You’re OK” concept.
(Romans 12:3).

Remember the things that you’ve learned (in your “manicity”). Let them be reassuring to you and help get you to the realization that you’re OK.

Remember to eat when you’re hypergraphic.

Stop typing and go and take care of yourself.

“OK, God. I’m slowly starting to ‘get it.”

Sandy,

This is great, it reminds me of what I call my "reboot page"; a document I read every time after sz takes me away; reminds me who I am, where and why. Without it I was lost and utterly confused frequently (more so than normal) ;) .

I wanted to look up (in context and for example) "Philippians 4:5 and Philippians 4:13" however most of my books are still in boxes and I would only be guessing which version.

all my best
