Forget it :(
thanks for the support everyone.
It is plain to see that this place is a clique and I am not welcome here.
Why did I even bother joining again

Hi Quahog, don't feel that way, please don't think that because no one answered it meant that you're not accepted as part of the group...if you suffer CP like the rest of us here do then that makes you a part of our group here. Please try again with your questions about oxycontin, I don't take it but there are a few here who do I believe and they probably just didn't see this yet...

Quahog...
If you are still reading here...I will share that I didn't like it, even though it seemed "stronger" than others. I don't know what the question was, BTW.
I found a different long acting med that works for me.
As to this "clique" thing...this site is still in the "rebuilding" mode...and many are still lurking and simply may not be quick to post.
It will click in with time.

Hello Quahog,
I didn't see your question, but if I can help, I will. I take Oxycontin. I have taken it now for about three years. Although, it is only one of four pain meds that I take. I don't have a problem with it and don't know if that is what you're asking.
Please, come back and ask the question again. I have been gone for a few days. I got laryngitis and have been down.
Please don't think that there are certain groups that only talk to each other. I certainly don't do that and I don't think anyone else does.
Please give us another chance? :(

sounds like your having a bad day, so I for one am going to disregard your anger- happens to all of us. I take oxycontin, I have for two years,40 mg, twice a day, my only complaint is it certaintly does not last 12 hours, maybe 6 so I have breakthrough meds I take which are percocet, 10/325 4 times per day. I wish I had a more steady base so I didnt have so many flare ups, but this is as high as my pain doctor is comfortable going. So basically I am thank ful for what I am getting. With out it I would not be able to tolerate the pain, I have full body rsd.Take care , hope this helps. Please restate your question. mbrfz.

Quahog,
I'm sorry that you feel ignored. I've felt that way on more than one occasion here. I've learned not to take it personally. Years ago there were times when it definitely felt 'clique-ish' here. I reached the conclusion that there arent' any cliques, just people who are on often and wind up speaking to each other regularly. Well, you can't blame people from forming special friendships when they are constantly speaking to each other.
That said, I feel at this point, while the site is trying to start over essentially, there are so few people posting that you haven't been ignored by any clique-type behavior. It's just a question of not too many people are here.
I've been trying to see if there is a 'normal' ratio of the number of readers versus the amount of typed responses.
Back in the day, there were so many registered 'patients', that each day you could count on at least a page and a half of new posts. Perhaps after a bit of time has elapsed BT will return to it's glory days.
Quahog, please believe me when I say that if you can hold out a bit longer, you'll see that people here aren't ignoring you. It's just a question of numbers. In all honesty, I probably could have answered your question/s regarding your meds. I didn't even notice the post. ( Mushy brain syndrome). My sincerest of aplogies to you.
Please stay. This forum needs all the people it can muster.
Pain free days,
Pete

Quahog I'm so sorry that your question was never answered. I was a member of this forum before it had the crash and things have been really slow since it came back up. We need you to be part of our CP forum, so please don't feel rejected. Since BT has come back up I only check it once every few days because the new posts are few and far between, obviously I missed yours. Give us another chance!!

Please forgive my demeanor as of late.
I have been having a rough go of it and I just lost it !!!!
The fun just never stops either.
I found out from test results that I have Lyme disease and I am thinking great now I can get treated and maybe get better.
A Lyme Literate Medical Doctor was even consulted and ruled the reuslts as probable Lyme now when I go to my Internist who is also my primary care doctor, he says he doubts the Lyme diagnosis. I don't kow why I keep seeing this guy. It is so hard to find another pcp but I really need to.
I am on the verge of a major meltdown here !! For every step forward there is two giant steps backwards. God grant me the strength to keep from kicking this doctor's rear-end.

No apologizes needed Quahog,
We all sometimes go through things that take all of our strength and want to give up. I'm so sorry that you are being given such a run around. I wonder why your primary is doubting the prognosis? I think I would tend to beleive the other docs instead of him, since they have done testing. I hope you can get this straightened out somehow and come up with a solution to make you well again.
As for giving the swift kick in the butt, sounds like maybe that's what he needs! :D Just joking.
Take care and hope you can find some answers. Let us know if you find out anything more.
Linda :)

Quahog!! No need to worry about feeling the way you do. We all go through so many trials with our problems and sometimes it's just more than we can handle mentally. Please come to us anytime!! We are all here for you and will help you in any way that we can. Welcome aboard!!
I'm sorry the your PCP is doubting the results of your test. I had a PCP one time just like that, I fired him.;) We must take care of ourselves and we need our doctors to work together and not give us conflicting information. If he feels you don't have Lyme disease then he needs to tell you why.
I wish the very best for you and feel free to PM me if you need some additional support.
