His teachers came over yesterday afternoon to continue a series of discussions for transitioning him to kindergarten next year. KT, his extended day teacher held up a picture and said "All Debbie, his aide, did was draw 2 circles that became the eyes and he did the rest."
Here's what he drew: (my web host is slow so please forgive that if it takes a few to load up)

I had seen him draw faces before but it was what was at the bottom that I didnt believe when she first told me-- she had to repeat it: Aaron wrote his own name! And not only THAT she said while he wrote it he said "Ah, Ah, ARRRRRR, Oh, Ennn" with each proper letter!
This is so AMAZING!! They were just floored when he did it and asked us if we were doing the alphabet and such with him and NO we hadnt been! Talk about WOW!! He learned this on his own somehow!!
The teachers had their eyes opened to a new way to teach Aaron--- even though he doesnt watch what they're doing all the time, he does pick it up, so they are thinking that they will use more exposure techniques and keep in mind that Aaron is probably a little sponge!!!! I certainly have a different take on how he works now! *Gay, if you're reading this, I told them about Wally and how he taught himself to read at age 3! They were amazed with that too*
And if that wasnt enough, he was standing in front of a poster on the classroom wall of a boy sitting and he was saying "Sit... Sit..." and he sat down. AND he's responding to that command. So now we know he can do picture association with more than just food!!!. AND he's using a fork and if someone just gets him started on the first bite, he can do the rest. WOW!!!
And this all just exploded in about a day!!
I am praising God for the little things we see--- its been a long and tough road and He has sustained us, and He's showing us that He's still got a handle on things, and for that we are truly grateful!!
To God be the glory!! WOO HOO!!
