Hello My Kind Members and Viewers:

Yes, it has been a long time since Franky, my Boston Bull Terrier now almost three years old and thirty seven pounds (Big Boy) have posted here in the frendliest Forum. Hope maybe some of the old gang views this Franky episode.

One of Franky's responsibilities in his job description is being my physical therapist as he takes me for a walk at least three times a day. This morning was the coldest morning in a long time as it was around freezing. As we walk Franky is always sniffing around. Today was bit unusual as when we crossed over a parking lot, Franky stopped and continued his ritual at one spot. I keep him on a long #110 pound leash as his strength is remarkable. When I got up to him, I see that flat nose and mouth less than an inch from a beautiful butterfly who could not handle the cold elements I'd guess. The butterfly lay there like it was still flying through the air.

There was Franky, sniffing and breathing his warm breath on this gold, black, yellow and white striped butterfly. It all seemed so similar, as Franky began licking my brainstem and lumbar areas the day he was rescued at ten weeks of age. A very unique heart and mind Franky has I picked up the pretty little butterfly and brought it home. Mother found a small decorative jar for the little fellow to rest in.

The secret is ever since I acquired Central Pontine Myelinolysis, I became interested in the lives of butterflys. From being a professional on a schedule during a wonderful career in one industry over thirty two years, suddenly my life paralleled that of a butterfly. Of course many can say how fantastic can that be. In my current direction of taking my personally founded CPM Awareness Foundation world wide as I've become an advocate and layman, I try not to answer that question. By the way, Franky is also my media press secretary. G-d Bless...

Oh Breeze, what a wonderful little doggie you have! Well, perhaps not so little if he weighs 36#. Our little Pepper dog is about 25# & I can barely lift him up into the sink if he has to have an emergency bath!

So your mother is visiting now? That's good! I recall your wonderful pictures of the butterfly place you visited last year....

My rescue dog,Rags, is also my physical therapist. Without him I'd probably have muscle atrophy by now. I'm forced to take him on walks in the woods everyday! And on good days we play ball,he's like a giant puppy! Yesterday he zeroed right in on a dead rabbit-must have scared off the coyote. These days the deer are everywhere & he justs takes off ZOOM,luckily he comes back when called & he gets a good heart workout! He gives me a big reason to keep going.....

Big hug to Franky, tell your mother hello! Take care,Buttons

Breeze...what a refreshing story. Franky deserves a good pat on the head, tummy rub too!
We visit Butterfly world anytime we're in the area Coral Springs Florida, if I remember correctly. What a neat place!
I'm taking gramonkey there for Christmas...Epcot, Disney and hopefully Wild Aminal park too....just hope my painful joints cooperate then or long enough to make it through a day.
What amazed me was the golden cryselis(sp?) cacoons. Looks like 24 carat gold, awesome! Huge bright blue butterflys landing on you too.
I do hope to make some life lasting memories.
Butterfly World can be seen via the web....just google search it.
It's a long drive from Oregon...but worth every mile!
Blessings, Cheryl

Sometimes, we can be blessed in more ways than ever anticipated...ever.

Thirty-five pounds? Does he lift weights with you? If so, what kind do Bostons use?

Good thoughts as always - j
