Hi all. Hope your day is spring like.
Phil I am sorry if I offended you in any way with my clingy people comment. I just have no luck when it comes to making friends. I think it is because I have a hard time saying no and being assertive so I have learned to distance myself before the clingy, pitiful, taking advantage thing happens.
Phil to answer your question, a lot of these "friends" are drinking and smoking pot but a lot of them started taking pills. Psych meds, pain meds. They get them from friends who steal them from parents or from parents who are dealing them for the money. I know, disgusting, but true. It is one of the things that make it so hard for those of us who are in pain and need the meds and have to fight with the medical profession who have to fight with the DEA who have to try to keep the stupid from killing themselves and their children. Anyway, my son has been staying away from those kids and that is one of the reasons he is heartbroken. Every single one of them has turned to drugs. They all knew each other even though they didn't really hang out regularly. Some may grow out of it. It is sad and I hurt for him. He has had it rough.
Yes being a recovering addict makes it very hard to find proper treatment for pain management which is why I have a bottle of pain medication that I got in February that is still more than half full. I am afraid, and when I go to the doctor if they bring up my past I want to be able to say, look. I have this. I will do what ever you want. Statistics show that chronic pain patients rarely become addicted to their pain medication. They may become dependent but there is a big difference. Pills were never my drug of choice anyway. Doesn't change my fear which is good but still.
I really am at a loss as to what else to post. I loved the story about Jeff and the sewing machine lol. The v****a mono. was written and fist done by Eve Ensler but since then it has change and been done many times over. The particular one I meant was what I found on YouTube when I searched Jeff's stage name.
