Hey all thought I would share the girls competed in Speical Olympic track and field events on Saturday April 19th..

Beth my oldest got 6th place in the softball throw for ages 12 to 15 and she got a SILVER medal for the 200 meter dash for ages 12 to 15..

Gloria got a GOLD in softball throw for ages 8 to 11 and a BRONZE for 100 meter dash for ages 8 to 11 ...

they were so proud.

the sad part is they told thier dad (my ex ) on the phone on Sunday and Beth said she was proud of herself. and HE YELLED AT THEM BOTH. "DO NOT BE PROUD OF YOURSELF PRIDE IS A SIN." had beth in tears all night and the past 2 days and had gloria angry and still affecting her too.

Sounds like a good time! They have a right to be proud of themselves. I'm sorry their dad... took their victories away from them.:(

Oh, wow...they should be proud! Please tell them that the kind of pride that is sinful is the kind where you think you know better than God- not the kind where you worked hard to achieve something!

They should be proud and IM PROUD OF THEM!!!!!!!!!!

That is a different PROUD of what the bible talks about. I've thought of putting Adam and Noah in special Olympics but it cant be stuff in the sun.

Give them high 5's and hugs for me. :D

That's awesome! I bet you're so proud! Thanks for sharing the awesome news! Jackie just had a field day recently only they give medals to all the participants, all the same medals and each participant gets two medals, one for each event they do. :) I think it's great they have these kinds of events for our special kids. :D

WOW!!! WTG!!!!!

Is there someone, like a preist, that they would consider the utmost authority on the subject, that could explain to them how proud they SHOULD be?

UGH! I just want to beat that man! He's a thief and that IS a sin! YIKES! But at the same time you don't want daddy to look like a jerk to them either...I wonder if you could make it like: ooops daddy made a mistake...would he ever get on board with that?

GRRR!

Thank you all. I am divorivced and my ex husband has Supervisied visits so I am here with them 24/7 . when he does come to visit I'm here the whole time. He calls them weekly and trying to be a good mom I let him talk to them on speaker phone .. and he does this.

My 13 old will say to people. well i guess daddy is like that cause he has scpherzineia. Everyone tells them they have a right to be proud. This is the first year for them to do Speical olympics. All the kids got medals or ribbons depending on the place they made. The did Special olympics bowling earlyer in the year. Next year They hope to commepte in more events.

Beth my oldest came into this world weighing 2lb 4oz at 30 weeks. so she has come a long long way. my youngest gloria was 2lb 10oz and born at 30 weeks. and she to has come such a long long way..
