G'day everyone.
For the oldies here you will probably remember that Alicia is a great singer. Well, she should be. She was in the Australian Girl's choir for about 10 years, and got to the highest group in the choir. She also did singing as a final year subject at school.
Sounds good eh. Well, the only challenge we had was that Alicia would NEVER sing to us or to family members. She was great with the choir, but that was it!
That is about to change bigtime.
Recently Alicia has been gaining confidence and has entered a few karaoke competitions. In fact has done so well that she has reached a grand final, which she will be in next Thursday. The prizes are pretty cool.
But wait there's more.
A few weeks back in the semi-final Alicia was spotted by a talent scout.
AND
She has now been offered a spot to sing professionaly with a group that not only performs locally, but also performs interstate. At the end of the year the group will sing at one of the large enertainment centres in the city! She has the option of singing just about every weekend if she wants to.
The manager wants her to copy Aretha Franklin and sing her songs.
This is fantastic stuff folks. We are so excited for Alicia. We have always said to her that she could do something with her singing, and now she can. It will be such a great confidence booster for her. She will of course continue her day job as a 'Front of House Manager' for a very posh winery - restuarant - holiday spot.
To prove to you that I am not fibbing or spinning a yarn as Bec might say, here is a photo of Alicia at the semi final a few weeks ago.

No she didn't witn $15,000, but the grand final prizes are pretty cool.
