End of a game show era

In an industry that calls the end of every long running series a 'milestone' and proclaims all its stars as 'legends', it's hard not to feel that sometimes the hype is exaggerated.

But those two words almost certainly apply to this announcement: Bob Barker has finally decided to step down as host of "The Price is Right". [more]Very sad :(

It is sad, isn't it? :( I have watched since the show started. I was 5 yo, and I'll never forget it! Imagine nice $2,000 cars! :eek: :D

I am relieved that he thought to retire before he dropped dead onstage, but it's still sad. I understand they're looking for a successor, but to be honest, I think the show's ratings will plummet. Old habits die hard. :( He is "still young," though, for a nearly-83 yo! I'm just sad that I won't get the chance to meet him.

Enjoy your retirement, Bob. I hope being "bored" is something you come to enjoy. You have certainly earned it!
