Quiz time.

HIV/AIDS (when it first surfaced it had the whole medical community and in fact the whole world baffled. It was first called

GRID.

This is the way I remember it.

It was a terrible time because we felt (at the time) that we had made so much progress in the area of human rights and to a degree, we were FINALLY being accepted. We were and ARE human beings and deserving of human rights, respect and equality. GRID and minus 180 degree turn!! While they always had an excuse "this" REALLY gave them one. We were the scourge of the earth. It was proven where it actually came from but alas my memory fails me:(:(

Well, here is one article:

Origin Of AIDS (http://www.avert.org/origins.htm)

There's actually a story about who and how the first case of HIV entered the United States. Patient Zero That though may be debatable.

No one knew how gay men and certain others were getting GRID....but gay men by in large were coming down with a "mysterious" illness that quickly killed it's victims.

While I no longer drink, I remember offering a gay woman a taste of apple schnapps I had just ordered. She said she had better not. "You never know". By in large, our gay sisters have stood with us arm in arm, donating blood and things that we can't or should not do.

I remember GRID as standing for Gay related immune disorder.

According to Google it stands for (Gay Related Immuno Deficiency)

It really doesn't matter. As many of you, I have seen it take many, many victims. I do have a friend who is doing very, very well on a regimen of (I believe) two pills per day. The virus cannot be detected in his blood.

We are however far from a cure. It's unfortunate (make that a tragedy) that a lot of young people practice unsafe sex believing
OH, there's a pill for that. That's BS and just down right stupid.

If nothing else, you always have a right hand!! Not the first date, not the second date. Maybe after 6 months and plenty of testing and plenty of trust, IMHO!! After all, It's not worth your life!!

Thanks for reading= = = = =Phil

My best friend who is no longer here, drank out of the same glass, used the same fork, smoked off of the same cigarette. It is not a contracted via casual contact.

I was just re-tested. Negative again.

"Lifestyle". I just hate that word. We are the way we are because we were born this way. I knew as early as 2 or 3.
