View Full Version : Need good thoughts

I got a form letter informing (no pun intended) me that my "baseline" mammogram (last month, now that I am over 40) had a "finding" that required another mammogram. So tomorrow, I get to have the girls mashed again, then get to wait another 3 weeks or whatever for them to get back to me. I hate this--I totally freaked out on DH last night, worrying about breast cancer and dying. It is likely nothing, but I just wish they could tell me that tomorrow.

I'm already dreading it. :(

good vibs, good thoughts, calm thoughts, every night visualize sending that 'finding' out and away from your body, think positive, wish you well

(((((((((((((Laura))))))))))))))).

This happened to me, too. I had a mammo a few months ago, and they called me back to re-do it because of concern about the tissue in one breast. I went back in, they re-did it, said it was just density (which I knew  ) and sent me 'til next year. :) They said it happens often to new patients because they have nothing to compare it to. I'm sure you'll be okay...but let me know, okay?

Praying for peace and that it was nothing and the next one will be clear. I know a lot of people who get that and it ends up being fine.

Geez, Laura - some people will do anything to get strangers to play with their boobs... ;)

Whatever you do, do NOT, I repeat DO NOT, go looking for info on the internet yet! Wait until they have found out what ever the "finding" was! Since this is a baseline, is is most likely just a dense spot or some fibrous tissue. I know "don't freak" is not the easiest advice to follow (plus I'm the FIRST to assume the worst anyway) but try.

In the meantime I'll think good thoughts about your ta-ta's..... (_o_)(_o_)

You guys crack me up! All is fine--they did 2 shots of one breast, then did an ultrasound, because (ahem) "I have the breasts of a 25 year old" (and she wants them back!). Density issues, GinaM--same thing! The doc said all is well, and wants to recheck in 6 months.

Meanwhile, in a breast imaging center, you'd think they'd have magazines that aren't full of breast cancer stuff. Nope. Maybe patients steal all the other magazines, but it was like October (Breast Cancer Awareness MOnth) all over again, and in April!

More later--gotta go catch up on work now. Your good thoughts pulled me through!

I missed this completely, and had no idea! I've been there, and everything was ok (it was a density issue, like Frogmama's), but you can die a thousand deaths waiting to find out for sure. All I can tell you is take it one step at a time. You're obviously proactive about your own health, and that's in your favor.

Wishing you the best, and keep us posted!

According to the doc, everything is fine--he read the mammogram and the ultrasounds and said that there are no problems. So, for now at least, i'm good to go!:D

Laura, sorry I missed this before you went in...I had a scare a while back...before I was 40 too! And started the routine stuff! I won't bore you now...glad all is well!

Oh, about those 25 yo breasts...Kelly Ripa made a joke one morning about her over 'worked' breasts, saying they are "32 longs" or something like that...I cracked up, but REALLY had no inkling what she meant until Audrey got threw with mine! UGH! Don't let that woman find you whatever you do, the alternative stinks!

Well, I guess I can stop thinking about your boobs now.... :)

Kristen and FrogMama--:D

And thanks for thinking about my boobs!

Re Kelly Ripa: if she has 32 longs, she must be rolling them up like a pair of Army socks, because she's as flat as a boy.

That's EXACTLY what she said...LOL!
