Well, I think for most of us, turning thirty beats the alternative.

I didn't mind 30 so much or 31-39...but the big 4 - 0 freaked me out!

Thirty was sorta the end to kid stuff...partying and frivolous with money, that kinda thing. I went back and got my graduate degree, got married had Coley, sold my condo & bought a house...all that sorta stuff...

But now, I just feel OLD! I couldn't even imagine late night studying, and there is NO WAY in HE!! I could consider another little one...OMG! just exhausted me too much after 40... I wonder though how old I'd feel if I was able to take better care of myself, had more time to devote to me and less time stressing about everything that goes along with all the ASD theories and real life experiences.

If I catch one of Oprah's getting older shows, I am in absolute awe at some of these 50, 60, 70+ yos...many of which look like they have more energy than me AND some look younger too....ugh!

Don't fret 30, it's no big deal! I LOVED my 30s!!!!

I've survived 30 and 40, and am looking at an invitation for my 25th high school reunion. Given that several of my classmates didn't make it to 30 (a couple didn't make it to 20, come to think of it), and that several of them have lost children, I can only think of these years as victories.

The decades only have the significance you attach to them. If some smart-*** puts flamingoes or tombstones in your yard to make you feel old, I think a weekend at the Marriott with room service is the proper response. Tell them you won't come home until the crap is off the lawn, and the house is clean.

And Happy Birthday!
