My H wants to travel to DC for the Green Our Vaccines and Autism Awareness March in June. Neither of us have ever been there or even booked an airline flight before. I'm finding the whole process overwhelming. Does anyone have any good reccomendations on finding inexpensive airfare and hotel rooms and just info about getting around the City in general? Also what air lines are the best and safest?
Thanks for your help.

Our local American Automobile Association handles air fares and other travel options. It functions like a travel agency. If you are a member, just ask what services they provide for their local membership.
There is no charge for any travel agency as their fees come from the airlines, hotels, rental car agencies, etc. You can also Google to find airlines fares. Keep in mind that sometimes you can find better fares by yourself by calling the airline and/or hotel yourself. Any 800 number is usually a Call Center, and it is common knowledge that the hotel itself can usually beat the Call Center price.
If there is any special event going on, it is unlikely that hotels and other services will discount their fees during that time. However, it pays to try. Cheerio.
