I'm new here and I have been a Nite owl my whole life or as far back into my childhood as I can remember anyway and have no doubt its genetic as both my parents are or were the same way. I only found this site in searching for awnsers to this as now my youngest daughter is struggeling with it and I say struggle because I to have trouble coping in a 9-5 society. "I'm tired".
A little more detail is to say I have many things I enjoy doing but I just do them better at nite. I cant tell you how many times I've drawn a picture, built a model, or washed the car at midnight. Until recently I could call my mother at 2am and ask what she was doing and she'd tell me she's remodeling the kitchen.
I've managed to function OK but as I said before "I'm tired" all day and then the sun goes down and its time to clean the entire house. I've also been known to stay up for days at a time. Can anyone else relate?
My youngest daughter now 14 has also been this way since she was in diapers but now is struggeling in school and teachers and others are starting to label her lazy as she has shown up late for school 3 or 4 times this year from over sleeping and if she does get up on time she's tired all day. Hence the lazy label. What these people dont understand is that we can paint a lifesize Niagra Falls on our bedroom walls while everybodyelse is saying there goodnite prayers, just dont ask us to get up in the morning. Now I know the musician can relate.
I feel for my daughters struggle but since this is how God has created her I have no desire to change her only to help her cope in a world that sleeps to much. After all God needs people to keep this world turning at night too.
So much more I want to say but don't know where to start.
So to all of yas, Good night everybody!!! (instead of good morning)
