My family doesn't understand my daughters disorder either, they think that seizures are a one size fits all problem and trying to get them to understand that LGS is not JUST seizures it enough to make you nuts!
You have found a great place with families dealing with a great variety of diagnosis and abilities. We always say- Glad you found us, but sorry you had too.
Welcome!

Welcome, our daughter is working on a diagnosis for an "unknown syndrome". The one they think she has runs 1:25,000. Family can be real helpful  We listen and learn. Karen

My niece has CAPD. Is your daughter getting any therapy through school or indepentently? My niece (who just turned 8) has speech therapy to help her learn to moderate her voice for the situation. The therapist also helped with teaching some coping methods to help her learn to hear through the background noise. She was really lucky to have found a therapist who was familiar with CAPD already.
