Is there a way to report spam messages? I occassionally get messages from random users that are basically spam mail and I don't know what to do with them. Should I report them or just delete them? I know the most recent one I got (today actually) was from a user who had been banned, so I'm sure word has gotten to the powers that be about the messages this person sent, but what should I do in the future?

By the way, you all here at BT do a fantastic job screening these people out! I've only ever gotten maybe two or three spam private messages out of my three years here on the board. So thanks for all the hard work in keeping these people off of the board!!

If you get a PM from a poster that has been Banned it means we are aware of him/her and are dealing with it.

If they have not been banned please copy and paste (C&P) in this forum, (C&P) a PM to a mod, OR **Moderator Connection** (http://brain.hastypastry.net/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=290), OR Forum Feedback (http://brain.hastypastry.net/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=2) OR your own 'HOME' forum.

We will try to deal with it as soon as we can.

Thanks to everyone who alerted us to this spammer.

You can avoid spam pms by only allowing people on your buddy list (and admins/mods) to send you pms.

Step 1 Click the UserCP link in the upper left corner of any page here at BrainTalk

Step 2 On the left side find and click the "Edit Options" link

Step 3 Scroll down a little bit and locate the box labled "Receive Private Messages only from Buddies and Moderators" and click the box to the left.

Step 4 On the left side of the screen locate and click the "Buddy / Ignore Lists"

Step 5 Enter your buddy's names one at a time in the top box/buddy box and click on the save list button.

Repeat step 5 for all of your buddies. You DO NOT need to put the moderators or admins in your buddy list.
