Hello!
I live in New-York. I am a typical American. I have a horrible problem. Many people in America suffer \from this problem too.
The problem is big weight. I dont want to talk about it, but i cannot take any longer. I ask anyone who knows some ways of loosing weight. Help me! If
something has helped you, tell me about it. If you do not help me ,i will die!
Today i told to my girlfriend that I love her .And she spoke a lot of uncomplimentary words about my weight.
This message is posted not only in this forum. You can find it everywhere. I am down and out.

((((((((((((((((Andrew))))))))))))))))))). :(

This breaks my heart. My son's name is Andrew, and I hear your hurt in your post. You need to learn how to decide to do this for you and no one else. If your GF is giving you a hard time about it, she needs to be told that nagging and making fun of you does not help. It can actually make everything worse. If she can't be supportive, you need to unload her, hon'.

I didn't seriously struggle with weight until my kids were born, and it got worse from there. Like you, I thought there was no hope for me. I envisioned dying before 50 yo. (I am 40 on Friday. :) )

Sometime last year, while talking with my mom, I told her that my ideal program--one I could follow for the rest of my life--would be one that would allow me to keep eating the things I loved, not require me to eat what I hate (and I am a very picky eater!), and show me proper portions without constant measuring. I also have to eat frequently, due to low blood sugar.

Well, when I went to visit her a few months later, she asked me to go with her to a Weight Watchers meeting. I had tried WW a few times before and was sure I'd fail at it the way I always did. I was WRONG--nearly 90 lbs wrong over 14 1/2 months!! :D That morning, her hubby made me a WW rendition of my traditional breakfast sandwich, and it was absolutely delicious!! :) I learned it was about 1/3 the fat and calories I was used to eating, and although I have had some bouts of hunger over the past several months because of metabolism shifts and shrinkage, it has all been worth it. :)

The cool thing about the "new" WW is that it has you keep track of how many "points" of food you're eating and teaches quick ways to portion correctly, so you don't spend your life digging out measuring spoons and cups. You also learn how to "measure" your exercise, and the more active you are, the more you can eat. It even teaches sneaky ways to get more fiber so the "pointage" of the food is lower, allowing you to eat more.

Trust me when I tell you that I never thought I'd be one of the people who could boast losing over 100 lbs, but I am now well on my way, thanks to this program, and the really cool thing is that I no longer crave many of the fattening, unhealthy things I used to. I definitely can't eat the way I used to, so I will not be returning to old habits; I guarantee that. :)

Please go to www.weightwatchers.com and check it out. It'll tell you everything you wanna know. You can eat real food, you don't have to cut out favorites, and you really can do this for life. I know. :) It has changed my life completely, and it can change yours for the (much!) better, too.

Hang in, and good luck!

LIZARD :)
