Since going GF, my kids actually like squash. I remember the shock I felt the first time Samantha and Claire argued over who would take the leftovers to school for lunch! (I cooked double, so there were plenty for both.)

For those that don't read that comic regularly, they usually have a lot of "getting rid of zuccini" jokes at the end of summer.... place on front porch, ring doorbell, and run... "Hey, they left their car window rolled down! Shove them in!" etc.

I was always amazed how fast zucchini grows. When I had a garden, I would check the zucchini one day - it would be almost big enough to feed one person. The next day one zucchini could feed a family of 4 :eek:

I think it was Reader's Digest - someone left a bunch on zucchini on a chair near the road with a sign "Free". Later that day they found the zucchini on the ground and the chair gone.
