I am so glad this site is back!!!

I hope some of you will remember me, Artist (Kellie). I was diagnosed with TN, went through the gammit of meds, Neurontin, Lyrica, Trileptal as well as pain meds. I also had several steriod injections. Finally after a reaction to the Lyrica, I had an MVD in July. Best thing I ever did, although I wish I could have had access to this wonderful forum because I went through it without the guidance of this group. Well, everything went pretty well, I had compressions on both my 5th and more severely my 7th nerve. The NS said that was why I had the majority of my symptoms in my ear. It was sucessful, and I now am drug free...yeah!!!

I now however, have a spinal fluid leak that has been ongoing for 2 months now. At first it was a lump in the back of my head, that went down finally. Now I have a very swollen cheek/neck and daily headaches and various wierd feelings and pains on the back of my head near the surgical site. Hoping that the leak would heal spontaneously, I have waited and waited and waited (not very patiently I will admit). I am now going to get an MRI, as I still feel just generally tired and ill with all of the above. Any help in dealing with this, advise etc. would be much appreciated.

Thanks and so happy to see the familiar names!!!

Kellie

Thanks southerngirl! I am sooo very happy to be free of the TN pain and the drugs!!! I would still do the MVD even knowing I would get this leak. Its no fun, but not nearly as bad as my original problem. I had an MRI on Wednesday, so I should be hearing from my Neuro soon to see what is up with this. I know I can't go on like this forever, but like I said, its still better than TN or facial neuralgia.

Hey Kellie
Glad your TN pain is gone. The CSF leak is something you should look into. The fact that you got an MRI on Wednesday is a great start. Once they read that they will be able to tell you what's going on and if it needs to be repaired. Glad you found your way back
