Hello Erin,
Just checking up on you. Haven't seen you around in a week or two. I know you've been concerned about how difficult it is to please your contradictory boss. Just want to hear from you. How are your levels lately? So, if you have the mind to, pop in and say hello.
Regards,
Pete

Pete and Lisa - I'm okay! Sorry to worry you! Things have been busy with me trying to over-achieve to impress the bipolar boss. I've been doing okay, working a lot, and it appears to be working alright, for today at least. I did have a major, exciting, huge interview today - I met with Scott Stevens of the NJ Devils Hockey team (well, formerly of them...he retired a few years ago...for those who don't follow hockey, he was one of the best defensemen ever to play the sport, and was the guy who knocked Eric Lindros of the Flyers out, starting a nice rivalry.) I started considering journalism because of the devils, so it was kind of coming full circle. He was a nice guy, talked to me a bit, but it was just kind of weird. It wasn't really what I expected. But I can't really say much more, simply because I got the exclusive on it. No other newspaper or media outlet knows anything about why I got to talk to him, so that's about all I can say on that. :D
I did get other exciting news today - I got the plane tickets for my trip to Montana!! (For those who don't know - I won a trip to Montana from Marlboro after signing up to get a flashlight for my keychain. Very exciting!!) It really wasn't real until today, so now I have a lot of running around to do as I haven't done a single thing yet. I guess I was waiting to get the "you get this free trip, but here's the presentation you have to listen to about this time-share thing" or "it may have said free, but in that tiny small print on the forms, it said you have to give us either your soul or first born." So I have a lot to do in the next 9 days!!! I don't own a single thing for winter activities. I don't even own a pair of boots that fit. No snow pants, jacket, etc. I do have gloves and scarves. That's it. Hopefully, since it is somewhat past winter, I'll be able to get things on sale. But I just looked at the weather and I'm not going to actually buy a whole lot of winter stuff, since it'll be in the upper 40's while we're there....My best friend is going with me, and this will be the first trip we've ever taken together, so it should be interesting. I'm not bringing all of my meds with me, and will be packing full medical histories in my bag, her bag, etc, just in case. While there, we're going to be dogsledding (This I am wicked excited about!!), snowmobiling (we're wait-listed for it, which is fine, since it is still up in the air whether my spine will like that idea), cross-country skiing (yeah, taking smokers to a high altitude and then expecting me to exert myself...bright idea) and then a wildlife tour in Yellowstone (This I am amazingly excited about!!!! I've seen so many nature shows about it and the wolves there, and I'd just love to see them, see them hunt, see them in the pack, the communication techniques, etc. I can't wait! I'm not even all that upset that I have to be up at 7:30am for it!!). We leave Saturday, the 29th, and come back the 1st. Short little trip across the country, but it's okay. The flight is something like 3 hours, but I have no clue how long it really is since the math on the calculations for time zones is completely confusing. We're going from Newark to Minneapolis/St. Paul, then change planes, and off to Bozeman Montana. We start at 8 am, and end at 1p.m. with a one and a half hour layover. If you can figure out how long in a plane that is, please let me know!
I'm off to do some more research and then get to bed sometime tonight. I've got work tomorrow, but will be off Friday, so I'll be back tomorrow night probably, maybe Friday (My mom's been in Denver since Sunday and is coming home tomorrow, so I can't wait to see her and may spend all night just catching up with her. She's my best friend, so it's hard having her be away all that time. I just want her back in NJ, off of the plane safe and sound; then I can relax a little.)
Again, sorry to worry you!! I'm okay! I haven't gotten fired yet. I never know about tomorrow, but at least for this moment, I'm still gainfully employed. The bipolar pendulum (otherwise known as my boss's moods) is ever swinging, and you never know when it will turn into a wrecking ball....
